Mymy, that's one big ass boat... or at least it looks big as compared to the LR3!

How much does that weigh?

The boat is a 2007 24' Maxum. The listed weight is 5,600 lbs for the boat + trailer. But that's the dry weight. I have the tank full of fuel (70 gallons) which pushes the weight a little over 6,000 lbs.

It definitely makes my LR3 work, but it didn't seem too bad. I don't plan on towing it too much, and never over a long or difficult drive (never over a mountain pass, for example). I have moorage for the boat in Lake Washington, so it's going to stay there during the boating season.

my dad has the range rover supercharged and we've towed both our mastercraft x-30 and recently our 40th anniversary edition x-star with no problem. not sure if this compares much to the lr3 but i plan on doing plenty of towing this summer.

I use my LR3 to tow my race car all the time - I think it's great. I have a 16' Trailex open trailer, recently upgraded from ugly, heavy steel. I figure it, the Porsche, 2 extra sets of wheels, gas cans and spares I'm around 4,500 lbs. The old steel trailer was about 1,500 pounds heavier and I would say 6,000 pounds really made the LR3 work to hard, it was always downshifting and running 4,000+ RPM up any sort of hill. At 4,500 pounds it's great.

Just thought I'd give a little update. So far I've towed the race car and super heavy steel trailer about 4 or 5 times, with an extended 7 hour tow with no incident. It does seem as though the LR3 does have to work pretty hard at times, and I wish the brakes were a little beefier, but all in all, it gets the job done...and I've even seen as high as 14-15mpg during some stretches!
