The dealership I bought mine at (600 miles from home in South Carolina) botched the title and then proceeded to mail it directly to the DMV in Kansas City, which has no process for receiving a title by mail. The title was lost for 3 weeks, and then needed to be reprinted in SC and then sent back to KC... I had no way to check where it was, so I had to go to the DMV every other day and wait in line to see if it was there. Dark, dark days...
