Just picked up a Land Rover hood wind deflector for my LR4 this afternoon, has anyone installed this yet and could give some quick tips? The instruction seems straight forward but I figured it doesn't hurt to ask.

Just installed my hood wind deflector and got the front windows tinted too. The black wind deflector blends in with the Santorini Black perfectly.

Wow. Very seamless. Awesome job. I have the white LR4, I do love the black though. So what precisely are you gaining from this install? Just less bugs to the windshield?

Thanks Willie. Besides bugs which is the least of my concerns because you can always wash them off, it helps protects the hood from stones, dings and other sorts of debris on the road. Also I hope it deflects stones from hitting the windshield too. I hear it cost about $800 to replace a Land Rover windshield. Well, for $90, I think it was worth a try.

I'm still debating about getting a clear bra put on. I haven't seen any pictures or feedback from anyone who had it done. Especially on a black car.

Wow! the install looks great. I'm suprised at how seamless the install looks. The Land Rover lettering seems to hide the deflector even more for those of us who know the front already as the lettering on it.

I hope that it saves your windshield too. My LR4 has already gotten a new windshield to the tune of $885.39.

I'm guessing that when you get ready to take the deflector off, it will have no visible signs that it was ever there?

Ouch! sorry to hear about the windshield. The deflector is held down by 5 clips. They also comes with 5 small 3M strips that goes on the hood before putting on the clips. Hopefully that doesn't leave a mark when I decide to remove them.

Anyone else had an issue with the hood deflector?
I got mine installed, at the dealership when the LR4 was in for an oil change last month. Next day, the first time I drove over 40mph, I noticed a LOUD noise coming from the front left of the vehicle. Slowing down below 40, it stops. Hmm, thats interesting. Hit 40, theres the noise. Faster you go, louder it is. Driving along, looking for what might be causing it, and notice the deflector is blurry. ie, it is vibrating. A lot.
So I got home, and inspected it again to make sure it was installed correctly - looked good, but take good note of the fact it is attached only with five small, flexible, spring steel clips at the bottom. Nothing on top. Its about 4" wide. So I tried blocking it out in back towards the top with some foam rubber that would not damage the paint, thinking this might prevent the movement and dampen the vibration, and took it for a spin. Got up to 50mph before the front left clip broke, and the thing started flapping around like a seagull in a power line. Stopped and took it off completely.
Got a chance to return to the dealership this week, where they refunded the cost of the deflector and install, and waxed out the small marks left by it. They said their fellow dealership the next state over has seen the same thing, and the LR parts supplier said they knew of this issue also. Which begs the question a) who designed this and did they ever test it, and b) if its a known issue, why are they fixing the design/still selling it as is?
Very disappointing, the deflector looks awesome, but as designed seems to be for driveway use only.

This might be off topic a little, but have any of you installed brush guards for the front and rear lights, and/or the push bar and some driving lamps? I think that's going to be my big investment, but would love to see real-life photos of these installs on a LR4, there are some pics around but they aren't great and most are LR3 which have a different designed push bar. I think it'd look fantastic on Harriet (my LR4.)
