We've discussed these separately but frankly, I do not feel like digging up and resurrecting all those threads.

Brief reminder about my LR4: August 2013 HSE LUX, HD pkg, 37k miles.

We drove up to Acadia. Total of about 800 miles driven. Awesome trip. Love it up there.

1) I still love the Conti Terraincontact A/T's. Super smooth in the highway. Sadly, I got a flat. Besides the gigantic PITA that is to empty 4 bikes and a FULLY packed cargo area to access the full spare, I was so glad to have the spare. The trip continued without a hitch. But using that jack by the book... oh man. I was dead level with the jack dead vertical and still, despite religiously following directions it looked like the jack could buckle at any moment, so I stopped and was looking a couple of 2-by's to get me another 3 inches of height. A friendly commercial driver with a SuperDuty lent me his Ford bottle jack and that saved me from looking around for too long. Pretty lame. Lesson: carry a couple of small pieces of 2x4 or get a bottle jack with sufficient travel. I need to get that tire patched. It's a broken framing nail pretty much in the middle of the tire, so I expect no issues long term.

2) I had that "empty coolant reservoir" incident during Xmas break in Canada. I topped it off then with properly diluted LR coolant and have still not seen the level drop at all in 8 months and 4k miles. Weird. Never a trace of a leak.

3) The transmission still shifts beautifully. So much so, that I am really wondering if it is too soon to service it this fall at 6 years and <40k miles. Maybe I should wait until 8 years and 50-55k miles. Also, it really is amazing how low in the rpm range the transmission works in during normal driving - hardly ever over 2krpm. The SUV is kinda sneaky fast if you do let it rev. I do sense a resonance at 2.5-2.8krpm. It's always been there. It's not bad but the engine/car doesn't sound as silky smooth. I recall someone posting about a rattle at that rpm range. Not surprising.

I'm in a similar position but with more miles: 6 yrs and it'll turn 60K miles this weekend. It's shifting like a champ; nice and smooth. But like the ad says, "Don't let the smooth taste fool ya."

I also need to get a bottle jack. I just know that situation is going to sneak up on me...

Glad you're still digging the Conti TerrainContacts. Same here.

I think there's a service bulletin for screwing in a weighted dampener to alleviate the resonance.

I get a surge or stutter on my '16 in that RPM range. Really feel it thru the steering wheel. Do you think that's whats causing mine?

You make me want to buy your worn out (sarcastic font) LR4. I am looking to buy a late model Lr4. Any sellers? ☺

lol Not mine! I love it still. Some goofy things irk me about it, but in December it will take the cake for the car I've had the longest. I took delivery on 9/29/13. No plans in the horizon to sell it. Here it is personally detailed, just days before our trip.

My favorite color hands down. Just couldn't find one that met all my criteria after shopping for 4 months. I do like the fuji white that I got, which had everything else I wanted. But every time I see a corris grey with black pack it makes me a little sad/jealous.

The only thing that would get me out of my low mileage '13 Black with Almond right now would be to find a '16 with HD + Almond interior + Adaptive Cruise Control and low mileage. These are impossible to find.
