Hey all,

Our stop/start quit working a few months into ownership. The dealer fixed it (for like 2 days) and we just say F-it and left it broken. The light was on. I think it is a yellow "ECO" light. That was over six years ago. Now, we are likely going to sell it and I want to get that gone if possible.

Any insight on how to turn it off without replacing the little battery? It was such a poor attempt at stop/start that I can't imagine anyone wanting it working.

Thanks

Unfortunately, I don't know of an easy way to do that without replacing the battery. If you have an IID GAP tool, there may be a way. When I put the Velocity Tune supercharger pulley on, and had them remap my system, I had them pull the stop-start as part of the ECM reflash.

If you have the V6 and get a tune from Velocity AP, they can disable it.

Well, that would seem like a more expensive option than just having the stop/start battery replaced. I'll be selling it once we get home from summer vacay, so adding a tune to it probably isn't going to work.

Looks like my only option is the $500+ battery replacement. thanks

FWIW, I replaced mine with a LiFePo battery that is smaller and cheaper than stock, and it work(s) fine. Even with the dash light disabled, it still charges, and I have that battery attached to some accessories that I want to run with the engine off. Use the search feature and you should be able to find my post about it with an Amazon link. It isn't the same size, and needed some wiring adapters, but it worked and was around $100 at the time.

No. I've never run the BMS on any battery change, and I have the iiDTool.

I would be embarrassed to show the rest of my respected peers what I "frankensteined" together. It was my intention to find a mini post adaptor but I fell short on my search, its continued to work so I've left it alone. I'll snap a shot of it asap. I believe I just bought some longer 20/30mm or so bolts and used the square nuts that came with the battery.

There was no way I was going to pay that kind of money, dealer wanted $400 just for the battery. I just looked on eBay and I believe this is the battery. When I was going through my swap it was closer to $200 before shipping I thought.

Wow, so, you just bought this battery, hooked it up (hacked it up) and the lite was gone and **** worked? Awesome. If that is the case, you might have just saved me a big ass hassle. if you want, you can PM the the pic, I won't share, I promise! Thanks so much.

Honestly, I think most of the potential new owner population wouldn't want this hooked up, but it's the light that bothers people. New windshield and a nice detail and she is ready to go.
