There's some speculation about whether climate affects the life of the coolant crossover pipes. I figure we have enough people to get some meaningful data on this. I realize there are some middle-ground temperate states, but 10 options is already a lot, so just choose whatever you would classify your place as. This is US-Centric, but I think the middle-east people know they're hot and the Icelanders know they're cold.

My first one started leaking at around 60k miles. Guess I'm in a climate that's both hot and cold. 100+ in the summer, near 0 in the winter.

Front crossover failed (just a slow leak luckily) around 60k if I remember correctly. Failed in a somewhat hot climate, but I don't really know the past life of the vehicle beyond it being on the east coast.

I replaced mine around 62K. Had not failed, but was about to fail. This car had about 30K miles in Texas, and the rest in northern CA (inland, so pretty hot summers, cool winters).

When pulling the front crossover no doubt most "fail". They are brittle but the actual breakage on mine happened during removal. They are held in place.

Coolant temp is coolant temp. I doubt being in "hot" climate has much effect.
