Sorry for bumping an old thread, just want to give an update to my steering situation. The dealer told me that there is a slow leak in my P/S system. However she did say that the leak is very slow at the moment and I can just top up the fluids once a while and keep an eye on it. Apparently... -

Mike: I haven't got a P/S flush done since I got the truck, sounds like it might be a good time to do it... As for the belt, what belt are you referring to? Another quick question, I take my truck to my buddy (who's a mechanic)'s shop, he uses a 4 point hoist... what suspension setting do you... -

Steering noise
Hey all, My truck currently has about 130k KM (81k miles) on it. When I turn my steering wheel at low speeds, I can hear a faint mid-to-high pitch noise. Anyone has this experience? I'm hoping it's only a steering shaft that needs some lubrication... Thanks for any insight! -

Opinions on the rising cost of gas...
I'm getting about 15.6 MPG... not bad consider I'm running regular gas. I rarely drive fast, except when merging on the highway, and I coast at around 110-120 km/h range. Hopefully with the nicer weather, the MPG will steadily improve. P.S. I did manage to get about 20 MPG on a extended... -

Did you try to raise the vehicle while you were driving over 50km/h? Apparently in off-road mode it will not go over 50km/h........ -

So it has been 1.5 yrs since I own this truck - Yes I still have it... and it's still great IMO... Repairs that have been done since I got the truck (all at dealer): Front lower control arms - $1800 Coolant + Brake flush - $450 Transfer case oil change - $240 Broken ashtray - $0... -

Funny, I just had the exact same thing done at the dealer today... no more knocking noises, practically driving like new... now just waiting for the rears to go......... and yes, the bolts were rusted on mine too, but I'm up in Canada and we use a lot of roadsalts in the winter..... still no... -

2008 LR3 hatch will not open
I just had the same problem and I opt for the dealer to do it for me (for $190 CDN).. IMO it might be worth the trouble if it was more money, but as one of the poster said above, too much is at risk by doing it yourself (breaking things, etc) -

Back in the Rover Club!
I just gone through (well not quite through yet, but getting there!) a typical southern Ontario winter in this truck with the tires... they are not bad, but not as good as I expected.. I bought them to replace the aging (and expensive) Scropion Zero that came with my truck... they are very quiet... -

Congrats on your purchase! I bought mine is 2006 (a V6 SE) with no regrets until now.. it just got the lower control arms replaced today ($1400 CDN tax in) at the dealer... hopefully it'll go another 100k (km) without much troubles... As for the tires, I'm running Toyo Open Country HT right... -

Just fixed (hopefully) a leaking sunroof...
So I followed the instruction provided by kwlr3 to dry the carpet... good that I actually took the time to do it.. The foam below the carpet was SOAKED with water. I had to vacuum it, dry it with a towel, then blow the area dry with the hairdryer (again).. took almost 3-4 hours for it to be... -

Thanks for the replies so far. I'll certainly try to lift the carpets that way and see if there's anymore moisture inside... the surface feels dry for now but I'm sure with my luck, there might still be some water down there... :argh: Just another quick question for you guys who had tried... -
