    Steering noise

Sorry for bumping an old thread, just want to give an update to my steering situation. The dealer told me that there is a slow leak in my P/S system. However she did say that the leak is very slow at the moment and I can just top up the fluids once a while and keep an eye on it. Apparently...

    Steering noise

Mike: I haven't got a P/S flush done since I got the truck, sounds like it might be a good time to do it... As for the belt, what belt are you referring to? Another quick question, I take my truck to my buddy (who's a mechanic)'s shop, he uses a 4 point hoist... what suspension setting do you...

    Steering noise

Hey all, My truck currently has about 130k KM (81k miles) on it. When I turn my steering wheel at low speeds, I can hear a faint mid-to-high pitch noise. Anyone has this experience? I'm hoping it's only a steering shaft that needs some lubrication... Thanks for any insight!

Opinions on the rising cost of gas...

I'm getting about 15.6 MPG... not bad consider I'm running regular gas. I rarely drive fast, except when merging on the highway, and I coast at around 110-120 km/h range. Hopefully with the nicer weather, the MPG will steadily improve. P.S. I did manage to get about 20 MPG on a extended...

Proud owner of a 2006 LR3 V6 SE (new to me!)

Did you try to raise the vehicle while you were driving over 50km/h? Apparently in off-road mode it will not go over 50km/h........

    control arms

Funny, I just had the exact same thing done at the dealer today... no more knocking noises, practically driving like new... now just waiting for the rears to go......... and yes, the bolts were rusted on mine too, but I'm up in Canada and we use a lot of roadsalts in the winter..... still no...

2008 LR3 hatch will not open

I just had the same problem and I opt for the dealer to do it for me (for $190 CDN).. IMO it might be worth the trouble if it was more money, but as one of the poster said above, too much is at risk by doing it yourself (breaking things, etc)

    Back in the Rover Club!

I just gone through (well not quite through yet, but getting there!) a typical southern Ontario winter in this truck with the tires... they are not bad, but not as good as I expected.. I bought them to replace the aging (and expensive) Scropion Zero that came with my truck... they are very quiet...

    Back in the Rover Club!

Congrats on your purchase! I bought mine is 2006 (a V6 SE) with no regrets until now.. it just got the lower control arms replaced today ($1400 CDN tax in) at the dealer... hopefully it'll go another 100k (km) without much troubles... As for the tires, I'm running Toyo Open Country HT right...

Just fixed (hopefully) a leaking sunroof...

So I followed the instruction provided by kwlr3 to dry the carpet... good that I actually took the time to do it.. The foam below the carpet was SOAKED with water. I had to vacuum it, dry it with a towel, then blow the area dry with the hairdryer (again).. took almost 3-4 hours for it to be...

Just fixed (hopefully) a leaking sunroof...

Thanks for the replies so far. I'll certainly try to lift the carpets that way and see if there's anymore moisture inside... the surface feels dry for now but I'm sure with my luck, there might still be some water down there... :argh: Just another quick question for you guys who had tried...

Just fixed (hopefully) a leaking sunroof...

I wish I asked before doing it =( but it was pretty urgent as the weather in Toronto is going to be bad for the next week or so... let's hope the fix holds up well...

Just fixed (hopefully) a leaking sunroof...

It was pouring rain last night here in Toronto. I parked my truck outside and when I got back inside my truck, I noticed the area around the airbag badge on the A-pillar was wet.. I knew it was my turn to get the legendary leaking sunroof. Anyways from the research I had done on here and...

Thinking of Buying a Land Rover

I've been driving a 2006 SE V6 for the last 6 months and I don't regret for a minute not getting the V8. Does it work hard to push the car around? You bet it does. Does it sound like it's working hard? Nope. The only thing I wish I'd have is the factory xenons.. otherwise the truck is...

For all the negative posts...how about a positive one?

I think it's easy for people to overlook the quality (intangible ones) of the vehicle when all they care to do about car research is pick up a copy of the CR (Crap Reports is what I call it) and look at all these "black dots and red dots".. I love mine, it's a bit underpowered (got a V6) but...

How long do you plan on keeping your LR3?

Hoping to keep mine for at least another 5-6 years. I'm out of warranty now (well, since I bought it actually), so I'm just praying that nothing goes wrong.. So far it's been great.. only the ashtray won't go back in. Minor issues though compare to what I've known about Land Rovers of the...

Proud owner of a 2006 LR3 V6 SE (new to me!)

Update - 2000 km later So I've racked up around 2000 km on my LR3.. loving it so far.. brought the dogs out a few times and gone through a snow storm here in Toronto... won't drive anything else  With the average speed being 40km/h (mixed city/hwy driving) I'm getting about 16.5L/100km...

Proud owner of a 2006 LR3 V6 SE (new to me!)

I'm mostly looking for things like oil change instructions, air filter replace, somewhere along those lines... if there's not a lot on the internet right now, maybe I'll get it started and get my hands (and camera) dirty! Good to hear it's a solid engine.. at least that's one less thing for...

Thanks for the reply. I will surely take a look at that damn drain on the weekend.. again, it hasn't leak anything but you always want to be "one up" on these cars... having driven European cars all my life, I've learned to stay ahead in maintenance and save $.. Second issue, it seems like...

Proud owner of a 2006 LR3 V6 SE (new to me!)

Thanks for all the warm welcome. I'm sure I will be asking people for more help as time goes on... not necessary a bad thing.. I've installed a HID kit yesterday... what a difference in light output! If I have more moola I would've just buy a set of HSE headlights and do a plug and play...

Proud owner of a 2006 LR3 V6 SE (new to me!)

I got my 9-5 for cheap and had a really good time with it in the last 1.5 yr.. I WILL miss its power and fuel economy.. however I do welcome the LR3's smooth ride and unsurpassed "class" amongst its peers.. Everytime I go out and I see a sea of ML's and X5's.. puts a smile on my face that...

Proud owner of a 2006 LR3 V6 SE (new to me!)

Yes it is a repost from another forum (apology for being lazy).. And thank you for the welcome. The Land Rover community online is not as big as I'd like it to be, but coming from brands like Volvo and Saab, I'm not in a shock (although I DID have an Audi A4 before, and the Audi online...

Proud owner of a 2006 LR3 V6 SE (new to me!)

Hi all, I've recently purchased a 2006 Land Rover LR3 V6 with the SE package. I bought it from a GTA Land Rover dealer with 86k on the clock. I got it for about 29k OTD. Black on black leather interior. Outside walk-around: The LR3 (or Discovery 3) has a very boxy design which is quite...
