    Problems With the LR3

Did not have to replace my battery. When I did some research, the switch failure was enough to cause the Christmas Tree lighting on the dash - it's a known 'feature' apparently! So I'd get that switch done then see how it looks. Not swapped an LR3 battery - but when I needed a new...

    Problems With the LR3

Yep - mine's an 08 - the "i" in the info display showed a repeating error/fault message, but I didn't manage to capture it when I took the shot with my iPhone. 60,000 on mine when the issue happened - been fine since When it occurred, the car went into emergency 'limp home' mode with reduced...

    Problems With the LR3

Did it throw the faults after you hit the brake pedal? The break switch can fail and throw these faults - or a bulb failure in the rear light pod in the stop circuit can also cause this issue. for me, it was the brake pedal switch which glitched, and threw every warning light on the dash until...

    Problems With the LR3

For me it was a failing rear diff. The inside lining of the diff was flaking off, and contaminating the diff oil, causing extreme me diff wear by 50,000 miles. Had to have a new diff

    Problems With the LR3

What does it sound like? Sort of rotary metallic noise that you can hear with the windows down at slow speeds?

    bluetooth microphone

My Mic had a wiring fault - took the stealership 2 days to figure it out. Apparently the original loom was wired back to front into the mic plug, so it was never going to work! Eventually they figured it out by comparing the wire colors with another LR3

Is an alignment necessary with new tires?

Good choice on the STIIs - I had mine installed at the local tire shop - who did the balancing etc. No need for an alignment if your existing tires have worn evenly.

    Engine Oil

I've used 5W30 Mobil 1 synthetic Truck & SUV at all changes - dealer has no problem with this, and I'm happy to be using a top grade synthetic.

    Tires for the on-road guy

I went with the suggestion from my Rover dealer, who had great success with Toyo STII on Range Rovers. I've had the STII on the LR3 for 25,000 miles now - best tire I've had Quiet, great grip, no more droning at highway speeds. I'll be buying again, but at 25k the tires sill have tons of...

    drilling licence plate ?

If you remove the plate later, and want to return to a stock look, just fill the holes with paint matched bumper plugs. http://www.bumperplugs.com/BPindex.html They'll match you paint color, and look great when fitted
