Do bushings save control arms?
I see. Well it seems crazy to replace control arms at 42k because of some rattle/wobble. I can remember all the shops I talked to about the control arm replacement job (which was at 198k on my LR3) saying how everything gets fused together and getting them off is where the labor comes in ... -

I guess the other question would be whether it's a viable DIY job, as well. IIRC, it was the labor on the control arm job that was the killer. Parts were only around $600 or so. But every shop I talked to said it was a lot of labor ... but I feel like I had, at some point, done some bushing-only... -

The triple whammy of a F+R control arm job, shot front air struts and needing to replace a drive shaft + center bearing was what finally sent my LR3 out to pasture (a decision I still regret to this day). Given how outrageously expensive LR control arms are -- I'm trying to be smarter w/ my... -

Question for LR4 owners that switched to 18" wheels
You shouldn't, based on any other reported experience I've seen. And now on my (completely limited) experience thus far. 265/65/r18 KO2s installed this AM. No rubbing as of yet, though I haven't had a chance to test access more yet. So far, so good. -

LR4 Brakes and Rotors
Getting closer, but still too high. A full OEM rebuild kit will run you around $900. It's not a $550 labor job. Not unless they're charging dealership labor rates, that is. Pretty sure my local dealership charges around $600 in labor for a brake job. A local shop should be a fraction of that. -

Seems like it would be easier just to buy a small compressor. -

LR4 Brakes and Rotors
I've been buying EBC rotors and pads (usually greenstuff) from Atlantic British for probably a decade now. Been pleased. If it's front only, as @Fuji4 said, you shouldn't be getting hit for more than $100-200 in labor. -

It's also worth mentioning that the third-party, more data-filled/featured sensors are cheaper than sensors that work with the (dumber) factory system. -

Oh, I can definitely see that. In my case, it's Santorini black + black Tuffants, so ... I'd own Fuji white if I could have found it. ;) -

I ordered 265/65/R18. Just wanted to be sure they're not coming w/ RWL on both sides. That would be a drag. -

KO2s on the way. For those that have bought KO2s -- do they all have raised white lettering on one side and black on the other? Can't seem to find anything but RWL sold anywhere, so just hoping they have it only on one side (I think all tires that have raised white are only on one side, right?) -

Had no idea you could pull codes at AutoZone for free. Will have to check that out. And the carbon buildup would make sense re: it tripping the code/warning when temps drop?
