Holy cow, I’d def just to got a custom audio shop to replace whatever is needed to have a good setup. Specially since you have the dvd config too.
Ok my end I think im going to go with one of the CarPlay modules and test it out this summer. For $400-$500 bucks I think it’s worth the gamble...
At least I got to watch the indy mechanic do it, once I’ve seen it done I usually have the confidence to diy it in the future. At 500 bucks it wasn’t dirt cheap, but was way better than the dealer quote. Plus the mechanic squeezed me in and knocked it out same day. That was really nice.
The timing chain concern is for V8 only right?
Thinking ahead of what else I might want to have replaced whenever I do get the timing seal redone
To answer Ktm, the leaks were considered seeps and not leaks by the mechanic. They did indicate that neither of these two place typically turn into...
Got the vacuum pump installed and am back home from the indy shop. They knocked it out in a little less than hour and charged no labor, just ~$500 for parts + oil.
If anything they think it's barely a seep on the timing cover on the passenger side, or possibly residual oil spray from what was...
First quote from indy shop is ~$500 total for vacuum pump, and $2k - $2.5k for the valve cover. They can do the vacuum pump today, but not the valve cover till next month. I'm leaning towards getting the vacuum pump done (which they says has the potential to leak the most since it's lower) and...
Hey all, looks like my LR4 is running into some of the expected SDV6 oil leak issues. I've had spotting on the driveway, from the passenger side of the skid plate. Took it to the dealer and they said the vacuum pump is leaking and upon further inspection the upper timing cover is leaking as...
Whelp, it was a PCV bleeder hose. $90 plastic hose sitting on top of the engine was cracked and sucking in air. Popped off the old one and installed the new one, no tools even required.
I've had the vehicle back for 6 days and heard this noise last night. Started as what sounded like a small electric hum / whine that we could hear driving. After getting home and sitting idle it got really loud. At first I thought it was a belt, but it doesn't sound like the usual belt scream I...
I also have super minor oil spotting on my driveway. Like really minor as in a few spots every few weeks. The skid plate itself actually looks a bit wetter on the passenger side than the driver side. Usually after a long drive a few drops come down near the passenger side from the skid plate...
Now that I think of it, I think I'm hitting that lower full gas threshold too. Just filled up from close to having the empty warning light come on and it was right around 17 gallons (or just under). Used to get close to 19 pre-recall work.
Hey all,
Generally I'm feeling the urge to replace the at risk coolant system items, but I have some thoughts given that my vehicle is almost 10 years old yet has just 52k miles on it. Overall the vehicle is driven less than 6k miles a year, almost exclusively on flat paved roads, and garaged...
