    I'd put front lower and rear upper control arms, possibly valve covers on the radar. If I had to guess the next "need" of a 13yr old lr4. Other than maintenance they are pretty solid after cooling system is sorted.

    I've used the Sylvania kits on multiple vehicles. Lr4 are one of the easiest because of how easy ( if the clips slide) they are the remove. Sylvania kit has lifetime warranty and the uv blocking top coat won't yellow.

    That's the metal locking part of the tank. What the lock ring (removed for picture) secures too

    Yeah, the Vin is in their database as completed, and it's the correct revised part ( yellow vs white plastic). But, good golly. That looks beat for 4 years and 13k miles.

    So, new 2012 had recall done 4 years ago. When I filled tank for first time it dribbled gas out on an incline, Stunk too. Pulled tank, used Amazon tool.     I'm in a rocky part of the Appalachian mountains mostly. Have had the 2010 slide off large wet rocks. Just trying to over insure against " just in cases". The front tow loop, yeah it's under that piece. Pops out just like rear cover, use a quarter to turn screws.

    Thanks, just the kinda perspective I'm looking for. Hold up better to hits, avoid concaving areas. Maybe just add some sliding rails?

    Anyone ever thought about reinforcing the fuel tank cradle? It looks like the lucky 8 skid plate doesn't add anything other than another layer/thicker material to the mix? Wondering if I can just sandwich an aluminum sheet to it as long as there's no sharp edges/ bolts that can poke the tank...

    Timing chain question: proactive or wait?

    If chain is quiet, just let it be. Keep up on 5k oil changes and it will likely last to 200k +. In mechanics defense, only those familiar with land rover/jaguar would know about the crossovers. Valve covers would likely start leaking around 120-130k, so I'd just wait until they do.
