so this technique allows you to check immediately - no need to wait.... You have to have the hood up.

Just fyi - 2016 LR4
open the hood
with keys in hand - push start button
Let all the lights settle down and push OK on left side of wheel until you get the menu
select the check oil level
boom - it should tell you - i guess its the hood being open
2016 - SS stopped a month later - car started just fine - but when I called around everyone told me that it would act as a drain on main battery - but when I did oil changes - codes were pulled and no one said anything... no i dont have a reader - should probably get one though -
