    Online Land Rover parts

I tried to first order the bushings only, took them to an indy shop, and they literally quit in the middle of the project stating that it was too hard and taking too long. My LR dealer refused to replace bushings only, and instead advised whole control arms be replaced. Atlantic British has...

To black the grill or not to black the grill?

black on the grill looks good, because it ties in with the black on the roof rack. Instead of using glossy jet black you might want to get a slightly matte black with a little bit of a greyish color to match the unpainted bumper ends. Finally it would probably look cool with a flat black...

Wind Noise at 70mph - Need Help

check the A pillar. Its black plastic cover is attached by 4 fasteners. Mine were loose and I experienced a vibration/buzzing at speeds over 70 mph. Next time your driving and hear the noise roll down the window and place your hand on the plastic cover. The noise should stop. If this stopped...

HDC + Parking Brake + No Speedometer

It was about $430.00 Included $250 worth of "fault tracing" and "reprogramming the computer with software updates" (aka padding the bill, IMHO) I probably got ripped off but they gave me a free LR2 loaner for four days because the part was not available. At least it appears they fixed it...

    Land Rover 'Wheels' Event?

These events are generally offered no strings attached and are a ton of fun. Also, it's a good way to get a hesitant significant other to appreciate what taking the truck off road is all about. Here's a link to a thread I posted with lots of pics from an event in Chicago: Autobahn Country Club

HDC + Parking Brake + No Speedometer

For those of you keeping score at home, turns out it was the wheel speed sensor. According to the tech it was physically damaged - not an electrical failure. Strange since I haven't had it off road since September.

    Towed to the shop

I feel your pain. LR3's seem to not like the cold. My dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree Tuesday with snow on the way to Chicago - on my way to the shop today. On the other hand she did perform brilliantly when I was caught in a massive snowstorm in Iowa a few weekends ago so I guess you...

    Uh oh....MOUSE!

Glad you caught the mouse! This happened to my girlfriend's brand new VW Tiguan 2.0T 4motion. She lives near a forest preserve and the little guy was sneaking in and eating the hood (bonnet in LR speak) insulation and chewing on the wiring in the engine bay. She ended up turning in...

HDC + Parking Brake + No Speedometer

update: Checked fuses; everything seemed okay. I realized that if I started the truck and switched to normal height immediately before driving it would raise, so at least I am out of access height now. I'm taking it to the dealership this morning so I will find out what is wrong...

HDC + Parking Brake + No Speedometer

No water problems, but I will try and check the fuses as soon as I get off work tonight. I guess it's possible that the old battery went bad, shorted and blew a fuse.

HDC + Parking Brake + No Speedometer

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction with this issue: LR3 was driving perfectly fine, however yesterday I got out to get the mail, got back in without shutting it off and had: 1) HDC Fault 2) Parking Brake Fault 3) Parking Brake amber light illuminated 3) No special Programs 4)...

Steering Rock Assembly and Control Arms

My two cents is to have both the lower control arm bushings inspected as well as the inner and outer tie rods. I had the same shake while braking from 50 MPH. I learned the hard way that it's easier and more cost effective to replace the entire control arms than to try to find someone to...

Need opinions - trouble with non-LR shop with LCA Bushings

Update: after ordering the new LCA's from the LR dealership I found out that the parts counter employee from LR had talked my indy mechanic out of changing the bushings. That's the reason he didn't complete the job; it wasn't a mechanical issue of the LCA being too warn. I'm going to have my...
