    Joey you are my hero...I am not so worried about cruise control....It is a luxury not a necessity.. I was more curious as to what the damn connector was for. But thinking about it I do remember wiggling the shift lever and getting it unlocked. but thanks for your help.

    Ok I connected the connector, started up and drove to work...the issue that came up was when I attempted to remove the key. I could turn the truck off but could not move the key any further than position 1. Unplugged and the key could be removed...strange this is

    Duh, I should have give more info. The truck is a 96 D1/ The connectors are white with 6 pins each. Connector 1 appears to go back into the steering wheel. The colors are Purple, Red/Black, white, Purple, Blue and Orange. Connector 2 has Pink, Purple/Lt blue, Purple, orange, White/Black. Two...
