I had an issue like this last summer. I had my compressor and condenser replaced and everything. Worked perfect for a couple of months and then this happened. They replaced the HVAC control module and that solved it.
Returning with a little bit of insight. Yesterday I tested the the purge valve on the D5 by first comparing the resistance on the purge valve of the D5 compared to my LR4 (both use the same Bosch FoMoCo purge valve.) both red within an Ohm of each other. I never disconnected any lines or moved...
Curious about the supercharge bypass valve. How would I check that?
Anyway to check the MAP sensor as well. The pressure fluctuates with acceleration but I’m not sure that’s enough to tell the integrity of the sensor.
Hey all, sorry for the week late response. I had surgery on Tuesday and have been recovering since. Today was the first day I felt like a human again so we are back to diagnosing!
Here are the lambda values at idle and 2000 rpm. You described them in a wavy fashion and that seems like exactly...
Sorry for taking a bit. I just replaced the rear upper control arms on my LR4 so I’ve been focused on completing that. Finished that all up, drove to the alignment shop to get my car aligned and found out that the rear toe links are completely seized and the shop can’t adjust them… great! (I...
Ran fuel trims after the whole experience. Ran it up to 2000 rpms and they were cleaning up, pulling I believe negative 16-18% on the STFT with about 23% on the long term on both cylinders.
When I did the smoke test through the purge valve in the intake I had the intake duct all duct taped and...
If the fuel filter is built into the low pressure pump then wouldn’t I have to replace the whole unit or could I clean the filter?
Luckily for me this is a D5 which means I should be able to get to the low pressure pump through the cabin without having to drop the whole tank (unibody).
i did not, im guessing it is in the low pressure pump?
It originally called out an misfire on cylinder 4, replaced everything on cylinder 4 and now it’s saying cylinder 5 and 5. Should I replace cylinder 5? I have all the working spare parts to do it.
I believe I only have access to O2 sensor #2 on both banks. Should I take a look at the values while the car is warm? Also I looked at the maf values and both of them are in range of each other.
I was on the freeway today driving back home, needed to pass someone so I put my foot down and...
Sorry, just trying to move on this issue, seems to be getting worse daily. I tested the purge valve and it is closed when the car is off. Fuel pressure seemed normal, is there any specific PSI I should be looking for? When I was doing harder pulls it ranged from 2650-2800 psi.
Is there any...
so I bought a mini smoke machine off of Amazon and taped up each side of the intake duct and Ran the smoke machine in both PCV lines, in the evap/brake booster lines, and finally let it run through the inlet where the purge valve line connects to. I could not see any smoke coming out of...
so my IID tool will unfortunately not read the voltages of the MAF sensors. What is the best way that I can check and ensure that they are working properly?
Vacuum leaks are better than fuel issues! I assume the purge valve is working because every time I worked on cylinder 4 (plugs coil and injector) I would undo the fuel thank vaccuum lines and they would suck in a ton of air from being under vacuum so I assume that there is no leaks in that...
Discovered today why I’ve been losing a little bit of coolant. Seems like the bleeder cap on the top of my front cross over pipe is leaking. Does anyone know the part number for this, I can’t seem to find it?
I’ll get the car warmed up and take some logs. Any specific RPMs you want me to hold it at? I think someone said 1500 but when I try to hold it there the rpms like to fluctuate 100-200 rpms up and down.
I could be wrong but wouldn’t it mean that both O2 sensors are bad since both banks read...
At idle when these cars are warmed up they I believe the general rule of thumb is long term-short term=<+/-10%. As you can see mine are way past that point.
Ok, updated the tool and can see everything now. The car is running rich… super rich. The first screen shot is before I cleared the fuel adaptions. The second is after I cleared them and took a short drive around the block. Additionally, I pulled up some voltages that seem a bit high but could...
This is what I’m aiming on. I emailed Gap, they just sent me an update for the G3. Really hoping that I gain the ability to reset fuel adaptions because I think this could possibly be the issue. Probably a long shot though.
I’ll keep you guys posted, I’ll be back with the car on Saturday.
