I suppose anything is possible. Unfortunately I didn't keep the packaging. Some of this is def my fault for needing to get the truck up and running as quickly as possible. Should have contacted the vendor, confirmed authenticity, etc. Grrrr. At least a pad swap is easy...ish.
Very interesting. I'm a '12. With the anti-vibe plate removed, the fit was still super tight, but about similar to what I recall on new pads and discs for a few other jobs I've done. I'm not an expert, but I've swapped discs and pads 2-3x. I used FERODO from RMEuropean. FDB4455 came with new...
Your truck is a beauty. It took me a while but I was able to sell those OE black 19" wheels to offset the price of the Compos. Just sayin'. :)
The brakes thing is annoying. I may try some new hardware to see if that helps, or else a new/different set of pads...:dontknow:
Hmm OK thanks. I just double-checked and yes it's the "feet" of the pad that slot into the clips. They feet are rattling around like the retaining clip isn't squeezing them enough. Maybe I just need to get out some vice grips and have a go at it.
I changed out my front rotors and pads about two weeks ago using Zimmerman and Ferrodo pads. The pads looked markedly different than what came off the truck. Large silver-colored cylinder thing on one side and thick anti-vibration pads on the backs. Upon attempting to refit, and doing everything...
Sure. I used some adhesive zip tie mounts I found at my Ace. I stuck some VHB on their bases and then stuck them to the lower portion of the hood and routed the cable into the driver’s side area where the brake res is.
So already had a homebrew battery box with an MPPT so I only needed the panel, and Lensun was super easy to work with, responsive to emails etc. I ordered just the panel and you do need your own two rolls of VHB to attach. Use LOTS of VHB. I didn't use enough on the front edge and it started to...
Prep continues for my first “big” overland trip. Getting close to heading out for the first segments of the East Mojave Heritage Trail, a bigger, longer, more remote version of Mojave Road.
To that end, because camp time won’t be sufficient to linger around while Solar recharges my solar...
Oh and for whatever reason the bolts that came with mine from Lucky 8 weren’t long enough for the bottom mounts but were perfect for the side holes. So I had to buy 12 additional allen cap M8x40 1.25 thread bolts to reach the bottom. Ymmv.
Unfortunately I didn’t bother to do a write up on my experience. However the issue I encountered is well-documented around here in some threads. Basically there are some hard lines that interfere with the lip towards the rear of the slider. But, with a buddy and a hacksaw, grinder, your cutting...
I like that too! Nice combo. I also just installed my TF818 sliders from LK8. Passenger side went on like butter, installed it solo in about 25 minutes. Driver side did require the previously discussed cutouts to clear the bend and clamp on the lines. All good otherwise and does not interfere...
I just did this method with my spare BFG 265, which is a touch less in diameter than the Ridge Grappler which is what I also run. Fitting a new new Ridge in the spare is gonna be a fight for sure.
In crawling around under the exhaust, has anyone considered just lopping off the pipes aft of the resonator and just welding in some 90 elbow turndowns from there, so the exhaust just exits down and not routing it all the way back to rear bumper? Seems to be about the only solution to rerouting...
Aside from tools and the emergency EAS setup above, what LR components is anyone packing? Spare ABS sensor front/rear, spare f/r suspension height sensor, air valves? Wasn't sure how prone to failure the height and abs sensors are on these.
I'm confused. You don't need to order new flares if you broke a clip. Body panel clips are all over ebay or Amazon for about $10. Or do you mean you broke the clip retainer on the plastic flare itself? How'd you do that? Your flares will be fine if it's missing one connection. But I agree, I've...
Hey MS. Awesome rig!
I bought my ARb already setup. It has the ARB fogs installed. No issues you speak of. I know ARB is notorious for piecing together all the little parts required. You sure you got everything?
Yeah I saw a YouTuber do something very similar on a 3. Admittedly I don’t know much about reliability of the push fittings, but my only concern with creating that kind of setup beforehand is that by my count it introduces about 16 new potential spots for leaks (4 new T connectors plus schrader...
