That’s really strange. You don’t seem to have overheated, and didn’t notice any strange knocking noises before failure, right? Oil level is okay? Could the car be stuck in gear, or the starter motor be stuck against the flywheel? -

Glad you fixed the problem, but I can’t really see how corrosion at the battery terminal could cause a slow-to-start situation (assuming it was cranking normally). Did you clean the maf as well (wondering if that had something to do with it). -

Strange that it won’t jump start. Did you have the jumpers grounded to the negative battery terminal or to the chassis? Just thinking that it could be a bad earth strap, which would prevent a jump start if you were grounding to the battery terminal. -

My first thought would be a leaking injector - fuel leaks into the cylinder as it sets giving you a rich start. The other thing that comes to mind is the cracked fuel flange issue - are you sure you’re not smelling raw fuel from the tank (somewhat close to the tailpipes is the reason I ask). -

Probably that oil cooler tube in your picture, but I think it’s difficult to distinguish between the pump/oil cooler tube leak and the front crossover leaking. As I recall, the front crossover goes into the block just behind that area and coolant can run out from the same place. -

Wow, great find. I see that now as well in my manual, and that sure sounds right to me too. I think you need to replace the airbag and maybe the supplemental restraint module just to clear the code. What a terrible system if that’s true. I don’t know what the post-crash car behavior rules... -

There is also a relay in the engine junction box for the fuel pump. You could check that as well. If the relay is tripping when you turn on the ignition, then you should see 12v at the fuse. If you have 12v at the fuse and you’re not hearing the fuel pump, then the problem has to be down... -

We have an inertia switch somewhere. It shuts off the fuel supply in a crash. Should be on the firewall passenger side - I haven’t actually laid eyes on it myself. To reset, I think you just push a button. I believe those RCM codes might be related, so you might need to clear the codes first...
