Radio code input problem
I just had to replace my battery and got my code from the local dealer and was told, If you have entered more than like 5 or 6 codes in to the radio . . . you will need to leave it powered on saying "code" for about 2 hours before it will accept the code again. that is part of the theft... -
door lock problems
I had the same problem your having on my 1999 D1 and it was the actuators they would lock but they wouldn't unlock all the way unless you did it manually by pulling the lock tab up. I was also told to replace the latches but it wouldn't have helped. -

Sorry for the very long delay in responding. I have been very busy fixing my rover ( I swear if I didn't love it I would blow the damn thing up ) I would recomend using a K&N oil filer the next time you change your oil. they have a anti-drain back valve in them the keeps the oil from draining...- Va_Disco

The disco 1 uses atf fluid in the power steering, but atf and power steering fluid is very very close in oil properties. You don't need to drain it. Listen to the pump again and see if it sounds like metel to metel grinding or just the roaring of the pump ( you shouldn't turn the wheel to full... -

OK finaly got around to doing the seafoam induction cleaning, and also the seafoam in the fuel to clean the injectors. No power to rear wheels when not in diff lock?
Just drive nice on your test drive, and any other driving you do with the front shaft removed. Our rovers are designed to be 4x4 all the time and when you take the front shaft out of the picture that means the rear will be doing twice the work. So just keep that in mind. -
No power to rear wheels when not in diff lock?
With the front shaft off you will need the diff locked to get power to the rear wheels. With out the diff locked your power goes to the path of least resistance, witch would be the front output shaft off the diff. With the diff locked you send 50% of the power forward and %50 to the rear. -

Thanks Mike, I didn't even think to check the rave cd for the specs. I will check it out and let you know. I have checked fans at Roverlandparts and the fans are $125 each much better than $330 each but still more than I am able to spend right now. -
