Hey Everybody,

My disco has been suffering from what seams to be dry starting. It has a fresh oil change. It is a D1 witch has 135,000 miles I am not sure if the oil pump has ever been changed. The motor had a slight tick that has gotten worse over the past week. How can I check the oil pressure on the 4.0 ? I want to get the cold start pressure and the warm pressure. I really just need to know the best place to attach the pressure gauge. Thanks in advance.

If you use a cheap filter, like a Fram, they can cause dry starts.
As for checking the oil pressure, there is a port down by the oil filter that you can hook into, most use the one that has the factory pressure sender.
Make to check it cold at idle and at 2000 RPM's and the same when warm.
