    Dash Cams?

I plan on putting my radar/dashcam up high and routing the wire through the headliner and through the A pillar to the fuse box this summer.

    Dash Cams?

I run an ****** maxcam 360c which is escorts flagship 360° max series radar with an integrated 2k dash cam. The radar isn’t really necessary for the LR4 but it’s great for road trips and I use it across all the cars I drive. the 2 in 1 is super convenient but that comes with a steep $$$.

Suspension noise (possibly lower control arm)

Yeah, I plan on looking into it as soon as I get some confirmation from here that the bushing does seem like the culprit. I'll try to reach out to arnott directly and see if they could help me out and just send me a replacement for $$. hopefully a shop wont charge me too much if i give them them...

Suspension noise (possibly lower control arm)

Got the truck up in the air today and couldn’t feel any play. Took a look underneath and the right strut bushing that connects to the lower control arm seemed to be a bit more crunched compared to the left so I put it in off-road height and took a look underneath and the bushing seems to be...

Suspension noise (possibly lower control arm)

getting the car up in the air tomorrow to verify that it’s the control arm. I’m already pretty confident that it is so I’m going through the motions in my head to ensure the work goes smooth. I have most of my tools with me but I did leave my impact wrench at home. So my question is, has anyone...

Suspension noise (possibly lower control arm)

Sway bar links are usually more of a knocking kinda noised. The sway bar mount bushings are more of a squeak. If you go under the car you should be able to see if they’re deteriorating or not. Some times they’ll be in such bad shape that you can pull the rubber apart just by picking at it with...

Suspension noise (possibly lower control arm)

I always use OE brands. Did the rear upper control arms this summer and used Lemforder. They’ve been great

Suspension noise (possibly lower control arm)

whats the best ball joint popper to use for the lower control arms? i see things like this on ebay which seem very similar to the Land Rover "special tool" listed in the work shot manual but I just want to make sure it'll do the job. does anyone have experience with this tool...

Suspension noise (possibly lower control arm)

Hello all! My LR4 has developed a suspension noise from the front right wheel that has gotten progressively worse over the past 5 months. The noise happens over rough surfaces. As of now I don’t have the abilities to lift the car above ground but I am working on getting them to investigate it...

    HD package retrofit

You should drop all the things you had to buy for others who may want to attempt this project. I’ve heard of others doing it but having issues with getting the screen to recognize when it is locked.

Limp mode. Can't get above 4,000 RPM

not sure but any Land Rover past 2010 does this. it's normal behavior

Limp mode. Can't get above 4,000 RPM

they call it a soft limiter. Land Rover seemed to be ahead of its time for this kinda stuff, most car companies do soft limiters these days.

    LR4 Engine Noise Opinions WANTED!

The noise in the beginning sounds like pulley noise. I had a D5 that made a similar noise and the noise would come and go. It ended up being the pulley on the upper RH side of the engine. Take a look at this video

    2013 LR4 HSE V8

Curious if this viberation more of a noise or a feeling. I used to have a slight steering wheel shimmy in the 70-80mph range but around 85 it would be significantly reduced. Ended up being wheel bearings. I still have a slight vibration which is most likely LCAs which I’ll do this summer Not...

Clunking sound on very cold start

Fan clutch, mine used to do this when I would go skiing. Super easy to replace if you want to do it on your own. Took me 5 mins and a rented viscous fan removal tool from O’Reillys

    SCV6 Engine chatter/knock

71,000 If it helps my LR4 is at 158k and I’ve never had and idler pulley issue. Don’t think these are too common.

    SCV6 Engine chatter/knock

all my tools are in a different state so I let the shop handle this one. Ended up being a bad idler pulley bearing. Probably the best case scenario. Thank you to all for the help.

    SCV6 Engine chatter/knock

Did some more investigating this morning. — - Pulled the oil filter and it was clean, no site of any material. - Checked the oil level and it was full. Decided to turn the car on and listen to patterns with the noise. To my surprise when I first turned it on it sounded normal for about 2...

    SCV6 Engine chatter/knock

I know the tensioner pushing through the guide is common on the older AJ133s but it the tensioner collapsing common on the newer AJ126s? Any thoughts on it possibly being high pressure fuel pumps? The fuel trims have been slowly rising, last oil change I did about 15 days ago these were the...

    SCV6 Engine chatter/knock

Could be high pressure fuel pumps. The fuel trims are completely wacked, running at nearly +30 per side. I bet that’s exactly what it is. No codes, I’m going to check the oil filter tomorrow to make sure there are no metal shards. If there aren’t I’ll drive it around and see what the fuel...

    SCV6 Engine chatter/knock

Hello all. Returned back home today and the 3.0L SCV6 in the D5 has developed a noise. It follows RPMs, and I can’t tell whether it’s top end or bottom end Changed the oil 1300 miles ago and there was no metal in the filter, and pulled out 8.3L when I put in 8.5L previously. Praying that it’s...

Used SCV8 engine and trans assembly

IMO the sweat spot for powertrains in LR is between 14 and on when they came with the SC 5.0 paired with the zf8hp70. These transmissions were rated to 700 nm and the SCV8 only put out 625 nm. Because of this these transmissions were pretty reliable. The scv6 is paired to a zig8hp45 which are...

    Air Spring reseal kit (LR016412)

starting to get a bit of chop in my front right wheel. Haven't gotten a chance to get the truck above ground to inspect but I'm guessing it is either the bushing that sits in between the strut and the lower control arm (which isn't a serviceable/replaceable item) or it's the lower control arms...
