Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I've run the 285/60/18's since 2007 on both a Range Rover Sport and an LR3 with no issues. I like the additional traction from the wider footprint. 31.5 is the largest total diameter you can run without mods (as Umberto has mentioned already, above). When I move to the LR4 (soon) I will probably...

LR4 - Heavy Duty Package Question

    The 2014's won't have a V8 anymore either. It's a supercharged V6. Still more than 300 on the HP's and torque, but I'll miss the V8...

HELP - Suspension Fault - New Compressor - Sliders?

Even when I first started getting the suspension fault warning light, it didn't drop to access height. It just ran the compressor more than it should have. I wouldn't have been stuck if I had been out wheeling when the light first came on.

HELP - Suspension Fault - New Compressor - Sliders?

UPDATE - Fixed! Here's the photo of the new bracket under the sliders. The left back corner of the bracket is barely touching the slider, but the compressor mounting bolt is also touching on that side. That's what is causing the noise. Another close-up of where the bolt is touching the...

HELP - Suspension Fault - New Compressor - Sliders?

Yes. However, we put it up on the lift yesterday and looked at what was actually touching and it was only a very small piece on one corner. So, we cut out a small piece of the back of the slider, and it's great now. I'll post a couple pictures shortly. It's quieter than the original compressor I...

HELP - Suspension Fault - New Compressor - Sliders?

Long overdue update. So I got the T44 bracket and finally got it installed. Still crazy loud, so not enough to fix the problem. Looks like I'll have to modify the sliders similar to the T44's with the little box that hangs down in the back. On to phase 2... :driver:

    Trip to Moab

Cool video in the rain with the thunder and lighting. We did that same trail with the huge fallen rock a few years ago, but it looked a lot different.

LR4 Off road in San Juan Mountains

Great to see the new LR4's getting out there. Ouray/Telluride is one of my favorite places to wheel for sure. :driver: (Yes, I look for any excuse to post this pic of me on Imogene Pass...) OK, one more

    Interesting LR4

Why the air intake on one side? Aren't they both real intakes on the 4? So the other side would just be standard? Just curious.

HELP - Suspension Fault - New Compressor - Sliders?

Checked out your other post. Great one by the way. I like the new red color with the black wheels as well. What kind of wheels are those? I noticed that you can't get 18's to fit over the new LR4 brakes. Is that right? I might be in the market for an LR4 in the next year or two. But I...

HELP - Suspension Fault - New Compressor - Sliders?

Umberto! Great to hear from you. Glad you're still sticking with the Rovers as well. Here's a blast from the past for you: Great tip on the relocation bracket. I'm going to try that route I think. More to follow. Thanks for the great tips. :driver:

HELP - Suspension Fault - New Compressor - Sliders?

I have the 2008 LR3 HSE, just for reference. Recently needed to replace the suspension compressor. Apparently LR has learned that the compressor used on the LR3's is weak, and they've had a lot of fails. So the LR4's have a larger more powerful compressor. Here's the problem. I have the RS...

    2008 lr3

'08 LR3 HSE - I got the heavy duty package, which has the locking rear diff. I didn't have that on my previous vehicle ('06 Range Rover Sport) and I find it makes a difference off road. Just that much easier getting over obstacles. I don't put the lift rods on except when I'm wheeling. So yes...

They were designed to be flush with the sidewalls of the tires. They don't really stick out all that much. Interesting comment on the rusting. I haven't noticed that yet. I'll have to keep an eye on them. But living in AZ now, I don't get them that wet that often.

Love that one going under the tree. Sweet! Did you have to lower your suspension to get under that? The ARB bumper is also very nice color coded like that. (Jealous) :driver:
