HELP - Suspension Fault - New Compressor - Sliders?

Checked out your other post. Great one by the way. I like the new red color with the black wheels as well. What kind of wheels are those? I noticed that you can't get 18's to fit over the new LR4 brakes. Is that right? I might be in the market for an LR4 in the next year or two. But I like my 285/60/18's

They are Compomotive PD1880 18x8, ET44. Had to get them from the UK. You are right, stock 18" rims will no longer fit on the LR4 (unless you add spacers, which I'd rather not.) The Comps aren't cheap, but are strong and look good. About US$1,600-2,000 for 5 rims delivered to the US, depending on exchange rate and how far you are from the UK... Then again, I remember the days - around 2000 B.C., Before Children - when I would drop that much for a single 22" bling-o-rama wheel without blinking. From that perspective, the Comps are real cheap.

If your compressor was replaced with the complete new version with the new bracket you will probably have to have the sliders customized as Umberto mentioned to clear it even with the new bracket from Tactical, so i have heard, but at least getting the new bracket would help.

If you happened to get one of the original compressors with the old bracket then you might just be able to loosen the bolts on the bracket and slide it up a little to clear the slider. There is a little play on the bracket bolts.

I still have the original and had the same issue once upon a time.

They come from the factory in your choice of Silver, Anthracite Gray or Satin Black (my pick.)

Long overdue update. So I got the T44 bracket and finally got it installed. Still crazy loud, so not enough to fix the problem. Looks like I'll have to modify the sliders similar to the T44's with the little box that hangs down in the back. On to phase 2...

So....with the bracket the AMK compressor FITS inside the RS Sliders, but the vibration makes it too loud. Does that sum it up correctly? Thanks.

Yes. However, we put it up on the lift yesterday and looked at what was actually touching and it was only a very small piece on one corner. So, we cut out a small piece of the back of the slider, and it's great now. I'll post a couple pictures shortly. It's quieter than the original compressor I used to have in there now. Happy camper...

Awesome! I would very much like to see pics and if you'd be so kind as to write up a little "how-to" I'd appreciate that. I know I'll be having to go through this exercise soon enough. I have the bracket...just waiting for my Hitachi to die now!

Tempted to change it out before hand, because having it die in the forest would suck (with 32" tires especially) but it seems to be doing just fine so I won't pre-empt its life.

UPDATE - Fixed!

Here's the photo of the new bracket under the sliders. The left back corner of the bracket is barely touching the slider, but the compressor mounting bolt is also touching on that side. That's what is causing the noise.

So, here goes!

After (sorry about the photo quality). Now the compressor mounting bolt on the back left is not impeded. The original drop-down portion of the slider and the outside are still in place, so very little chance of hitting the bracket, even though it is slightly more exposed now.
