    Searching for a roof rack

Does anyone know of any companies making a roof rack similar to the design of the Expedition Roof Rack. Or, what do you have and what features should I be looking for? I have a sneaking suspicion that the full length tubular designed racks (like the Voyager Rack) create a lot of wind noise...

    Miles per Gallon?

If I keep my foot out of it and just leave it on CC @ 65 MPH, I knock down 22MPG. Hand calculated. Driving from Orlando to Denver, loaded down, and at avg highway speeds of 70+ I was getting 20.1 The altitude and mountain driving has knocked my MPG down a bit. I get about 16.5 in the city and...

LR3 Rear hatch electronic switch and Ice!

No, the Rover lives outside. I agree, it's definitely not as wet here, Denver, as up in AK.

LR3 Rear hatch electronic switch and Ice!

I remember opening my rear hatch @ -2deg here in Colorado with no problem. Sounds like you may need to dig a little deeper into it. I'm not saying -2 and -32 are the same thing, but with a little water induced I can see that happening. From what I remember it really isn't humid in AK @ -32...

Largest tire size that will fit in Factory Spare Tire location

Finally found a set of 18" wheels for a good deal. Onwards and upwards to a set of 285/60/18 Zeon LTZ's. Doing so, I believe I'll need to figure out a new place to store the spare. Also how much difference in tire diameter can there be, when you run a spare. Being that the LR3 is AWD, I would...

How big is the LR3 Offroad community?

We've had our 3 for a while now, but I'm just getting started, getting it prepped to face the trails here in Colorado. We just moved from Orlando Florida, in October of '11. One of the Top 5 reasons we moved out here was to have more opportunity to hit the trails and explore!

    control arm bushings -

I'm going to give it a try. What's the worst that can happen, they wear out at the same rate and I replace bushings again?? I also drive 99.9 % on paved city streets. '06 with 110K miles. Weekends out on the trail never add up to anything close to what I drive in a week, let alone a lifetime of...

    control arm bushings -

Was it on this board that I read that the RRS control arm bushings could be used on the LR3? The RRS bushings are solid, I believe, and would transfer a little more vibration and noise into the cabin, but that's a fair trade off for longevity IMO.

    Heated Windshield

I now live in Denver, Co., from Orlando Fl. and still run the Bosch ICONs. We've had two good snows and both the heated windshield (which I love) and wipers performed flawlessly!

2006 LR3 horn is not working

Pick up a simple 12/24V tester that just relies on a light for a go-no-go. Light on, good. No light, bad. Every auto part retailer sells them, cheap too.

2006 LR3 horn is not working

Check for the proper voltage at the connection as someone pushes the horn button. If you have voltage R2 the horn. If not start tracing power all the way back to the horn button.

    Engine Light

Three Torx head fasteners and three hose clamps and you're off to the races. You'll lose about 12oz or so of coolant. Not a huge deal. Yeah, just throw a pan under there to catch what you can. The housing, I believe, is a plastic composite. It's possible that it could crack. As far as DIY...

    Passenger side vent noise

Are you talking about the air intake on the passenger side front fender or the cup holder on the passenger side below the A/C vent? I'm confused. i believe you're talking about the A/C vent but it seems like everyone else is talking about removing the air intake vent on the fender.

    Off-roading wound

Depending on the sliders you purchase and how they are mounted to the body/frame, you will lose a little of the noise isolation from the frame to the body, causing a little more cabin noise. It won't be an intolerable amount. New occupants to your vehicle will never notice the difference. The...

    Confused LR3!

I've found that after "X" amount of events of the same type the ECU will store the code and the light will not illuminate for the same reason (i.e. engine not reaching operating temperature). I see the point of this being, if you have a new engine warning you will now know.

    Need -40 Celsius/Fahrenheit condition advise

Something that is not mentioned about the block heater is that you will need to be able to plug it into a 120V outlet to use it. From my experiences they are not stand alone units that run off of the car's battery. At least I've never seen one. From the sounds of it, you will be in a pretty...

    Need -40 Celsius/Fahrenheit condition advise

A block heater would be nice, but not totally needed. I lived in Alaska for 5 years and I never once plugged my Tahoe in and never once had a problem with it starting. There was a week in the winter of 98-99 where the temperature didn't get above -50 deg F. I made it to work every day.
