LOL, Well trust me, you got the better end of the deal Rover Junkie!!

    Heavy duty???

Put your suspension in "OFF-ROAD" height. Look into the passenger side rear wheelwell and look for a white plastic cylinder (about the size of a redbull can) with a wiring harness connected to it, on the top of the rear diff. That's the rear locker motor housing. If it isn't there, you don't...

Took my LR3 to the dealer and now this...

I agree with the tire rotation theory. I've found that on the heavier vehicles I've owned that when I cross rotate tires I'll get a vibration. From what I've been from different tire shops, it's the way the belts are "broken in" and it's more noticeable heavier vehicles since you're now spinning...

Try swapping the harness over to another switch on the door panel, like the passenger window switch and see if the symptoms are the same.

    LR3 Subwoofer

Interesting that JL doesn't offer a factory fit "Stealth Box" for the LR3. I'll probably go the route of rchase and have a custom enclosure fabricated for a 10W6V2.

    Everything's broke!!

Could a weak alternator or a bad main ground be the culprit? Not only check the battery for charge but also load test it, clean the posts, inspect the battery cables, etc.

18 or 20 inch wheel offset question

So, basically what you're saying is that the 18X9's will most likely fit at zero offset, with a 285/60/18 tire that's only 31.5" tall. I'm shrinking an inch of diameter from what you're running and have what looks like the same offset as your KMC MONSTERS. Maybe a Rod Mod, but all in all it's...

18 or 20 inch wheel offset question

What's the most offset that can be run without any "major" scrubbing. Will an 18X9, 0 offset wheel work or will the lip be too wide? I'm still searching for a set of 18's and possibly 20's for off road wheels but it seems every wheel manufacturer thinks Land Rovers are strictly street vehicles...

    Sometimes Smokin

To me, it sounds like a symptom of a leaking valve guides. Overnight, a couple drops or so of oil are dripping into the combustion chambers and being burnt up immediately at start up. Not a huge problem at all. Just for piece of mind, monitor the oil level.

Coolant Level Sensor - Replacing this weekend.

I'm not totally familiar with the coolant sensor but, is it possible to Ohm out the sensor? Open/Closed? Check both the new and old sensor. Also, simply jump out the harness. Create a closed circuit. If it does not check out OK, I'd then look at the harness. Look for a chaffed wire that's...

    Looking for 75k service advice

A rebuild or at the minimum R2 of the Ring and pinion may be necessary, in your case Houm. If I were to get a new diff, I'd definitely run RP from day one. I know what I'm doing now is just a band-aid and eventually a rebuild will be on the horizon. I'm at 94k miles now. Something that I don't...

    Looking for 75k service advice

My diffs only whined on the interstate at around 70+, before the fluid change. After dropping the fluid and going to RP, the whine at highway speeds was all but eliminated. I also noticed that it would coast better. Just all around smoother. When I dropped the fluid, I caught it in a clear...

    LR3 hood letters

I'd buy the new lettering. Tape off the lines and spacing of your old black letters with blue 3M painters tape. Maybe layer the tape so you don't scratch the hood when removing the letters with an emblem remover. (There are no alignment holes) Then remove the old letters one by one with a heat...

    LR3 hood letters

They are the factory gray LAND ROVER letters, just like the letters on the hood of yours before someone painted them black. If you want them in black, have them painted before you have them installed.

Keep us updated on how the install goes. Could you also link the store you purchased your ring & pinion kit from?

+1 with the Royal Purple 75W90. It'll put a smile on your face, when you don't have to turn up the radio to drown out the whine of your diffs going down the road.

2006 hse full size ipod help?

Interesting, I was under the impression that the RANGE ROVER was equipped with a AUX port in the rear of the center console facing the rear occupants, like in the LR3.

    New LR3 owner

As a heads up. If you're curious to know if your rig has a Locking Rear Diff what you could also do is grab a flashlight and take a peek. Raise the suspension to "Off Road" height and look in the passenger side rear wheel well. Look just beyond, more inboard, of the wheels air suspension and you...

    New LR3 owner

Small world! I actually sent a friend of mine in the area to look at that exact truck earlier this week! Great rig! Congrats. Just call up your local LR dealer and have them run the VIN. That will verify the options your 3 has. Also have them check to see that everything is up to snuff, update...
