Some pice from Shelf rd/Phantom Canyon run the day after a late spring snow on the front range. Turned out to be a beautiful day. Thanks to RoverRage from the Solihull Society webpage for coming along.
In Soviet Russia, Texstar brake pads don't trust YOU!
Sorry been wanting a chance to use one of those. They are most likely on par with OEM... but are EBCs that much more? Ive used EBC before on other cars and Ill probably put them on my LR3 when the time comes. They may cost a little more...
The common problems have pretty much been pointed out in the sticky thread at the top already. The occasional ride height sensor, windshield washer fluid sensor. Leaky sunroofs due to a clogged drain tube, and compressors. I would figure that the more you raise and lower the vehicle the shorter...
The one I linked was in the Sangre de Cristo, its called Hermit Pass. There is also one called Hayden Pass. They look like really scenic trails, easy day trip from the Springs.
Planning on heading out of the Springs around 10. One of my friends from work wont be able to make it till then hopefully he doesnt end up running late.
I have a passenger and I really like that drive going up Shelf road, I want to give my passenger the experience of looking out the window...
Rain/snow mix on friday. Original weather report said 50 on sat but now says 35, still partly cloudy. Might come across some snow at the higher altitudes but if its bad we just take Phantom Canyon back instead of Gold Camp. Have a sense of adventure.
I am not ready to have boulders taking bites out of my rocker panels and doors so im going to pass on Chinaman for a while lol. The current weather report still says partly cloudy on Saturday although the high temp is now only looking to be 35-40. Still, unless the high altitudes really get...
Saturday is supposed to be fairly warm and partly cloudy according to the last report I saw. Might be a bit colder up by Cripple Creek but its not showing much chance of precipitation. If anything there will be some snow on the trail in the higher elevations left over from friday. Unnless they...
There is also a nice state park up between Victor and Woodland Park:

Might be worth a look for anybody wanting to take a short day hike or just to check out accomodations for people who enjoy camping once the weather is a little...
Hello I hate to be a cross poster hopefully the mods dont toss my thread but it seems that the regional forums arent getting a lot of traffic. I see a million Discos around the area I know some have had to find this website. Plus its a break from the oh no my car is broke please help me threads...
Taking a cruise up Shelf Road on Saturday March 20th, then back down either Phantom Canyon or Gold Camp Road, all of which are scenic and easily traversed in stock vehicles. The route we take back will depend on what the group wants to do. There will be some time for Spur trails if anybody wants...
Hankook Dynapro ATMs are $145/tire from discounttire. They are getting good reviews and the price cant be beat, get them before they skyrocket. I have them and am happy I did it.
That was the video from the original post, and then my response followed.
Putting a rwd sports car on ice/snow is not that good of a comparison lol. Like no duh who do you think is going to win. Its not really about the terrain response so much as it is which wheels are turning. Put, I dont...
Glad you were able to get it on there Krizza... Looks like I made an oops and forgot to take off the cover for my front recovery loop before installing lol.
Yeah I have been watching videos of it. Looks like it can be handled but im not sure if I would attempt it without at least sliders.
If I get interest for that saturday, the 20th, ill try to do something a little less complicated.
Ummm I just tried it with paint. An image was 3264x2448 and weighed in at 1.48 mb. I used stretch/skew on paint using 30% on both, new image 980x735 and file size is 222kb. Pretty significant reduction in file size.
