I had a similar issue and ended up having to replace the compressor. Access is difficult, I believe the fender had to come off and it wasn’t cheap. Did fix the problem though.
I have the Lucky 8 SYA kit, it is spacers over the struts plus 2.5" rods and limiting straps. The suspension is re-calibrated at +65mm if I remember correctly.
Hello Everyone,
I've had my SYA kit and 255/65R19's for a couple months or so now, I've been really happy with the way it came out.
We have noticed a bit of an issue though and I'm curious if anyone has feedback they can share on it. We live in the mountains and regularly drive on small...
I'm $10k in for the year on my 2010, granted that is with some mods. I've spent more on maintenance for this vehicle than on all the other vehicles I've owned in my life combined.
Still love it though.
Yes, go take a look at their website. They offer several versions of the kit, the one with the limiting straps is for vehicles that will be used off road and they are there to protect your cv joints.
I did not. You might be able to get away with it but if you had an air suspension failure you’d be sitting on the tires, I wanted to make sure I could still move in that situation.
Thank you very much for your assistance Michael!
After several weeks and a ridiculous amount of money I have my LR4 back with new air struts, the SYA kit and 32" tires. It looks amazing, I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance to take a few. Next I need to get out on a trail and see how...
Michael,
They have done a calibration as part of the troubleshooting and an alignment is planned after they figure this out. It does panic and raise when you attempt to drop to access mode though lucky 8’s website says that may happen with this kit.
I don’t understand why you would need to...
I purchased the SYA kit and 4 Arnott struts recently and had my local Indy shop install them.
There were no instructions with the kit and this is the first time my shop had done one, they reached out to lucky 8 who then sent over a video on how to do it. All good so far at this point, their...
The new struts, SYA kit and duratrac 255/65r19s are installed. I was supposed to pick it up today but they are having an issue with the rear suspension. You get a “clunk” you can feel when you go over any size bump. It feels like something shifting around.
The shop needs a bit more time to...
Not sure if this is the same thing here but I just had to do one MAS and the purge valve.
My wife had the engine light come on one evening and we dropped it off at the Indy we use. They called me and said the fuel trim was way off between sides and they would need to figure out why. Called me...
4 Arnott's and SYA kit are in transit, now I just need to make the tire decision. 255/65r19 Duratrac or 255/60r19 A/T 3. Leaning toward the Toyo's but I'd really like that extra bit of height and sidewall.
Before tires and labor I'm at just under $5K for the year so far.
22" wheels? LOL I test drove a RRS with that motor and it sounds amazing. It might change my mind about the Defender but I'm still not swapping out my LR4 V8 anytime soon.
I understand the relationship between the spacers and the sensor rods compensating for them. My goal is to sit about 2 inches higher but retain my ability to raise/lower as usual.
I do have a couple questions:
If I go with the GAP tool would I even bother with the rods?
Maybe just in case it...
I'm still wrestling with the 18" wheel dilemma. On a LR4 I believe we have less choices than the LR3 due to the larger brakes.
stock 19" wheels with 255/65 32" tires gives me an additional 1" sidewall
18" wheels with 265/65 31.5" tires gives me 1 1/4" additional sidewall plus a lot more tire...
It does have the rods included. Johnson rods says these tires fit with their 2” kit, hopefully they do with the SYA kit as well. I’ll have to check suspension travel and see if I need additional mods. If I go with all that work I may as well get bigger tires lol
