British Sports Cars in San Luis Obispo replaced it approximately 5-6 months ago. Recently is relative to the age of the car...should have pointed that out. I can't make it up to BSC in SLO any time soon. Living in Thousand Oaks now.
The pipe blew out the side previously, so it wasn't...
There is a refrigerant leak in the rear air circuit, in the low pressure pipe that passes just above the rear left tire. I finally found the leak, YES. I was afraid of having to send it to an A/C specialist.
The leak is at a connection. It will be easy to disconnect, as the pipe has been...
Carl, I don't know what the normal range is. I was told to check and see if the voltage went back to the baseline level without any jumps or fluctuations. Do I need a second person in the driver seat to do that? I could get someone to do that for me. But then again, I don't know if my...
This problem has been continuous (intermittently continuous) since I owned the vehicle, before and after the VSS was replaced. The VSS immediately cured the far more serious loss of power symptoms at around highway speeds. I'm really positive that it isn't the VSS, due to that, and the fact...
No, only after throttle is released from mid-range application of throttle. And it does it intermittently. Kind of hard to describe as it is a bit picky when it decides to do it. It hasn't happened much lately, or I've gotten used to it. ;)
Oh, it surges at all speeds, just more commonly at speeds ...now that I think of it, almost always around 30-35 mph, in the city.
And there is no gasket there. I kind of doubt that is the problem, seeing how they hacked it up. Possible though...
VSS was replaced a couple months ago by LR Thousand Oaks. I think I'll order one from Motorcars LTD or Atlantic British. They seem to have good prices.
Yes, that is the piece I took off. Look at the holes in my image where the bolts pass through. Someone used a power drill to enlarge and generally hack up the TPS, so it seems.
I thought Melissa said that was the IAC in the thread I read on dweb...lol, jk Melissa.
I thought about titling this 'Problem with TPS reports' but then not many people would have looked. ;) The usual Office Space movie joke.
This is my TPS, right? See first attachment.
It looks pretty screwed up to me. Undoubtedly the previous owners didn't want to replace it and just...
Now I'm looking for a good power inverter so I can run my laptop in my car. Any suggestions on good ones? I've seen the usual ones online at bestbuy.com, sears.com, and crutchfield.com. None of them really stand out. I'll probably pick one from Best Buy.
I'll be recording the codes before I clear them, and investigating any causes. I'll fix it, don't worry. I just didn't want to take it into the shop any more if I didn't have to, hence the reason I have a check engine light on. hehe
Updates on product will be posted once I get the software...
Okay, so I just bought the software and necessary equipment from Mr. Peper at www.obd-2.com. I've seen good reviews from people on various sites about this guy's product. If anybody knows or owns this product, do you know if it allows you to reset the codes as well as inspect?
I know it has...
Someone educate me. Does double cardon = u-joint? heh If it does, I don't think I heard of them called double cardon before owning a land rover.
I've seen some aftermarket front driveshafts for Discos with double u-joints on the t-case side I think, for Discos with bigger lifts. If you...
I have a similar ticking in my engine. Almost certain it is the lifters. I don't think that sounds like an easy job. Not too difficult, but it would require a full weekend's work for me, never having worked on a Rover engine. And probably then some. I'm always getting started on a project...
I think you're right...and you'd most likely end up getting a better deal from an individual owner anyway.
I bought a 97 Disco and after spending some cash in the beginning I haven't had to do any repairs for a while, at least nothing that wasn't cheap and I could do myself. So far...
Strange. It happened twice while at the Pismo Dunes. Both times I had just hit a big bump, but I don't think I even got the tires off the ground.
Pulling the key out and restarting the engine reset the lights. That was the only thing that could reset the lights, hazard switch had no...
A friend took his vehicle to Midas some time back. They quoted him for some work to be done, so he called around to find out if that was a reasonable price or to possibly find a better place to do it. Turns out the people at that Midas had called around using my friend's name to get a bunch of...
