18" vs 19" for All Terrain Tires

Not sure where you got your information, but there have been 18" wheels that fit fine on LR4s since 2015 when the Compomotives came out. Since then, more and more wheels and brands have came to market. I listed several earlier in this thread where you don't have to grind anything...

    18" steelies without spacers for 2015 LR4 SCV6

Do you really need to start multiple threads on this? Not to mention start a thread at all when a search will turn up what you are looking for. Just a bit of forum etiquette tip for you. Regardless, I responded in your other thread.

18" vs 19" for All Terrain Tires

There are several 18" wheels that work without a spacer. Tuffant alloy or steel, Compomotive, the 18-inch wheels that come on the new Defender, Evo Corse, AlphaEquipt, as well as some others. There is a thread on here that has several in it.

18" vs 19" for All Terrain Tires

Choices and sidewall size. I think, given the choice and all else being equal, most would want 18" wheels over 19" wheels. But 18" wheels can cost a lot, and the LR4 never came with them. Add to it that going to the larger tires that the 18" wheel affords can open up some other issues, like...

I have seen JC's British mentioned online often. You can give them a call.

Rattling/Vibrating/Grinding/Ringing noise when turning at low RPM

Have you or anyone else had the wheels off for any reason lately? If so, check that the dust shields inside both of the front brake rotors haven't gotten bent a little in towards the rotors. I've had that happen and it makes a sound similar to what you describe. Could also maybe be the wheel...

Remind Me Again Why We Love These Things?

You've got to be very wealthy to "take in" a out of warranty Rover with no idea or expectation of what you are in for, especially if you are taking it into the dealer. Thankfully, there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum. The LR4 is old enough now that almost every issue has been tackled...

No. These were specifically designed to fit an LR4.

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Holy cow. That's ridiculous. I think the Land Rover pads are $125. How many hours do they think that job takes?

    2013 LR4 - P0087 Fuel Rail/System Pressure - too low

My dealer regularly uses BG44k in vehicles. I think it's even the subject of a Land Rover service bulletin. I think it may be this one (although there could be others): https://www.draytondistributors.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/LandRover_TSB_LTB00409NAS2d_BG-206-Air-Intake_BG-208-44K.pdf

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

Thanks. The funny thing about these stupid annoyances is when I finally get them fixed it makes me love this car even more.

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

Found the problem today. Tore into the liftgate. Removed the lower trim on the inside of the lifgate, which reveals the connector for the wiring that supplies the things inside the rear handle (liftgate release, license plate lights, and backup camera). The new cheapo Amazon liftgate switch...

"Air Suspension Not In Customer Mode" when trying to calibrate

Additionally, if you ever take it in to get aligned somewhere that is not a Land Rover dealer, put it in "tight tolerance mode" before you hand it over. That same warning message will appear on your dash.

"Air Suspension Not In Customer Mode" when trying to calibrate

Yeah, just keep going when it says "not in customer mode." Generally, calibration is something reserved for dealer service departments only, and that warning just lets them know they need to put it back into customer mode when they are done with their work. By the grace of the iiD tool, we're...

"Air Suspension Not In Customer Mode" when trying to calibrate

Not sure what the problem is. Customers generally can't calibrate their own suspension. It's going to be "not in customer mode" while it's in calibration mode. That's a warning for the Land Rover techs to put things back to normal before they toss the keys back to the owner.

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

I assume you mean checking the continuity in the switch? I assume that's what it does since it doesn't seem there's a rhyme or reason to polarity of the wires (since they were both the same color). That, and my research has turned up some others with an issue whereby their liftgate just...

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

Same color. Both the existing wires are black, and the wires on the new switch are both black. Just to be safe, though, I tried running the new switch either way, with the same result. Also checked codes, and there are none. There is no fuse I can find that is directed at the liftgate...

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

Yeah, the rear hatch button on the keyfob opens it 100% of the time. It's weird to do it that way, because you've got to be pulling on the liftgate the same time as you press the keyfob. But it works.

    Same Parts different numbers

Yeah, they are the same. If you'd really like to save money, you can order the OE units from the UK (assuming you are in the US) from a place like LR Direct. But if you are at your dealer, the S.S. Save Money set sail a long, long time ago.

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

The switches are all plastic, so I don't think they ground anywhere themselves. That, and te new switch is the exact same as the old one. The only exception is the wires seem to be a slightly thicker gauge on the newer one, and the wires on the new one wound up in a connector that isn't in the...

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

Thinking about it more, the rear switch may have been working when I sprayed cleaner in it because it was loose and hanging out of the rear hatch, thus creating some tension on the wiring. So I just ordered this switch that includes more wiring...

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

I should add that when the new switch did not work, I took it off. Thinking the switch just creates continuity between two wires, I then touched the stripped end of the two liftgate wires together (the ones that used to go to the old switch) to see if it did anything. And no, it did not. I...

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

Got the new switch today. Ordered the one I linked above. There isn't a matching connector inside the rear liftgate so you are required to cut and splice. And after all that, it does not work. No idea what's going on. It's the correct, official Land Rover switch. The rear liftgate still...

LR4 Front coolant outlet tube BS

Yeah, the symptoms they saw after the coolant outlet tube install jive with air in the cooling system. The LR4's cooling system can be a bear to bleed without a vacuum bleeder. If they did it the old fashioned way, they may have missed a bleed port and left some air in the system.
