    Simoniz 5?

It costs the dealer maybe 200, the rest is pure profit. At $300, maybe it's worth it. Better yet, the outside claim is crap (never wax), so ask for an interior package only since the only reason you consider it is for the interior "guarantee" - but do you know what the reviews say? Does the...

Rear suspension chatter or flap - video

jjvd21 did it right, reproduced the noise for a live tech when checking in the car, and I agree with Houm that no grounds exist to deny reproduction - so, at bottom, you appear to be more patient than he or I would be with such frustrating incompetence: denial of truth - egads! At least you're...

    Rear a/c issue

Jack is correct that it's easy to push the rear button once too often and have that little red LED lit on the bottom (for rear control) versus top at A for front automatic controls. Seems that MST goes from cold to hot, though. There's a separate evaporator in the rear, but the refrigerant is...

    New Brakes at 16k Miles??

OUCH! Hilarious, really. I had no idea about that forum, but I just told someone last week that I plan to stay with Audi and LR forums but had no plans to join a minivan forum, as if there was one -- and there is!

Low pressure alert at 10,000 miles

Don't trust a LR dealer, or any dealer, to pay attention to tires much. I've seen rotation on a few service calls, but they even say that tires fall out of their realm once when I asked. Only when doing an alignment do I really expect them to be sure that tire pressures are right.

Audio - Low Power Mode - Override?

Man, that's dreamy. I want to live like that! I swear I'll throw in the towel if you say SoCal.

We're still Roving, but yesterday I got measured for a suit of armor.

    New Brakes at 16k Miles??

Now you're in the spirit of it! You also figured it out using search, including the AB source. This was, of course, not personal and much less about your question than the "Hi, I need new tires, which to buy?" set. Still, your 3 post history suggested that maybe you had not spent much time...

    New Brakes at 16k Miles??

Did you search brake pad under this LR3 forum before asking? The search tool for "brake pad" under LR3 advanced search gives 244 results. On the first page I found this useful thread from last year. http://www.landroverworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11992&highlight=brake There are...

    LR3 Tire Question

Grumpy early morning reminder: People searching for tires, particularly 18"s, might profit from a bit of reading or searching of this forum before simply asking -- again -- which tire to buy. There are links to reference pages and discussions galore about selections and sizes, even in this...

Rear suspension chatter or flap - video

nice vid. Sure it's not just a heat shield somewhere rattling upon certain types of impacts? That would be a best/easiest scenario.

Did I mention? Got plenty of pictures now, if needed.

That's a nice thing to say. I enjoy being here, but so many others contribute much more original and useful content. We're building a useful reference for owners of these cars as they age and more DIY takes place, that's for sure. Our family plans on driving to Toronto in a few weeks, but...

Y'all are so sensitive, I'm blushing. Truly, I promised another LR3 if the van thing fails us. No off road work in our future, either.

I'll pay a referral fee to any member who finds me a buyer. Do your friend a favor, set them up in this honey of an HSE for about the same cost as the SE. They'll appreciate all the extras, just as we do. Thanks, J. http://forums.landroverworld.org/showthread.php?t=15073

    ticking at idle

Audi's V8s get the valve clatter at idle, freaky sounding sometimes but normal. Don't here it with our LR3, but engines vary.

    lug nut

I say it's safe. One needs to avoid shifting loads off center of lug, but with the others remaining in place, loosening or replacing one at a time permits no motion of the wheel relative to the hub/other lugs. Morris hits it, the lug system is designed to accept more abuse than sitting still...

    lug nut

I never trust the tire shops, so I always loosen and then retorque my lugs to spec after anyone touches the wheels. I keep a pipe length or collapsible breaker bar in each car for leverage on over-tight lugs. Worse situation would be stuck out on the road with a simple flat but unable to...

    LR3 floor mats

See correction - no embroidered letters, but the ones we have are super heavy and a rubber LR logo appears as an interruption in the carpet. Did you search the accessories page on the LR USA site or other online LR parts suppliers' sites? I can say that the LR ones that we have look nothing...

    NOOB questions here:

I have a TSB summary list somewhere from last year, but TSB does not guarantee any response unless the problem is verifiably reproduced at the dealer. Dealers reputedly don't like owners showing up waiving TSBs around requesting phantom fixes by neurotic or demanding owners, or so I'm told...
