2014-2016 Traxide Dual Battery Kit Lessons Learned

Cleared out and plugs moved to the alarm horn area. Here is a close up of the two-wire plug. I split an 8-gauge wire's strands into two halves and used two spade connectors to connect to the plug. The wire goes across the back of the engine bay and connects to the starting battery...

    LR4 Accessories

No issues with BSM or back up sensors with the Rijidij carrier. https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/rijidij-rear-tire-carrier.42043/#post-218473 I do like the latch system on terrafirma carrier though

2014-2016 Traxide Dual Battery Kit Lessons Learned

Figured it out! The power supply distribution box sends power from battery 1 to the starter pinion relay and the starter motor relay. The two wire plug in the bottom right corner (circled in orange) is the cuprit. Using two spade terminals and bridging 12 volts from the main battery to this...

Steal of a deal on an LR4 with issues

Shipment power plug. Used during transportation of the vehicle from the factory. Just tuck it back in when your done putting things back together, and good luck with your repair!

    Rear 12v socket no power?

Check that the wiring harness is attached to the back of the socket. Open the top and bottom lift gates. Remove just enough of the weather stripping to expose the length of the plastic panel that contains the socket ( between the panel and tail light). Pull the plastic panel inwards towards...

Whirring noise from back after shutting off engine

I've heard the same thing. At first, I thought it was the fuel pump, but there were quite a few forums that discussed it being the rear valve block (if I remember right). It only happened after I deflated the suspension, restarted the truck, re enabled EAS, set it back to normal height, and then...

2014-2016 Traxide Dual Battery Kit Lessons Learned

No. The "Power supply distribution module" or "Dual Battery junction box" in the service manual. I just didn't want to type it all out, but can see that I should be more clear lol. The traxide kit will still work. It's battery fitment that is the issue--the module just takes up too much room. I...

    Repeatable Vibration Issues

I am thinking that it is the tires, but I am going to ignore it for now. I am running 265-70/18s Lexani Terrain Beasts on Tuffants. They are E-rated, but are cheap (~$130 a tire). I will replace them with KO2s once they have outlived their usefulness, or once they get trashed on the trail.

2014-2016 Traxide Dual Battery Kit Lessons Learned

Well, back to the drawing board. Truck does not start unless the power distribution block is attached. My method gave power to the truck, but it wouldn't even turn over. And, a camera fault flashed across the display. Re-installed the power distribution block, and wired the truck back the way...

    Diagnosing Vacuum Hose issue

It would let you know which part to replace vice replacing everything. The vacuum lines are not cheap ($30-50 a piece). I can second @scott schmerge . Also, the noise you are describing sounds like it is bleeding vacuum upon shutdown. It's normal to equalize, but it sounds like a leak. Along...

2014-2016 Traxide Dual Battery Kit Lessons Learned

I have been slowly installing my traxide kit over the last couple of days. 1) The kit is solid, well constructed, and I am excited to finish the install. 2) the instructions are great, but better suited for the earlier models and does not take into account the stock, two-battery system. Only...

    Repeatable Vibration Issues

Well, I'm an idiot. First, I want to apologize to those that wasted brain power helping me diagnose the helicopter noise. I am very thankful of how this forum's familial underpinnings causes us to rally against the plight of those in trouble. Second, I wanted to reward you with my stupidity...

    Repeatable Vibration Issues

I will check again today. Install was pretty easy so I'm not sure how they could get damaged to be honest. I did buy them off of eBay, but they arrived in the timken box and looked high quality. The rotation was tight and smooth too. I may just pull both the front bearings and bench test them...

    Repeatable Vibration Issues

I pray that the LCAs alleviate the problem for you. Chasing the beast sucks....and is proving expensive. Especially, when my land rover Indy can't pinpoint it.

    Repeatable Vibration Issues

The vibration wasn't as bad with the e-rated 18s on there. I think the lighter 19s could not scare the beast and this allowed it to return with a vengeance Tomorrow is another day for tinkering. Lol. I hear you on the rabbit hole. I guess I am finding that I am more OCD than I thought.

No worries! I appreciate your in-depth post and your knowledge. Reading your posts always makes me envious of your innovative solutions to car issues. Repeatable Vibration Issues

I did not get the road force numbers, but I can ask. They did not print anything for me. Thank you so much for your insight! Today, I swapped my stock 19" wheels with stock conti tires back on. While doing the fronts, I pulled the lug / hub covers and loosened and re-torqued the axle nuts...

    Diagnosing Vacuum Hose issue

Smoke testing would best, but you can improvise with soapy water, a tissue, or some other smoke source. Sounds like the vacuum line that connects to manifold. I would let it idle and and take some incense, or a punk stick, and trace the line. See if any of the smoke is drawn into the line that...

    Repeatable Vibration Issues

Finally was able to check some things: - loosened and retightened rear driveshaft carrier bearing bracket to ensure alignment - engine and transmission mounts are good (rubber is still pliable and stong) - front driveshaft is tight with no play - mounted, the cv axles are tight with no play...

105K Service // Full Schedule // Cat Replacement

I removed the intakes, but left the battery boxes. It would probably be easier access to remove the boxes, but not necessary.
