Thinking of installing Yaesu FT-2900R Radio
I don't believe the glass will help your ground plane. I spoke with a customer service person at gigaradio and they recommended a hood mount. Plus it is easy to remove and drop down for low bridges/garage.- joecool509

I have the 8900 which is the newer model and mounted it under the passenger seat. Put my head unit in the same place. Used a panavise mount for hanging th mic. Will get a pic up soon.- joecool509

Loud Fan and Reduced Throttle
Could it have something to do with ethelnol in the gas? 91 octane is not the same from place to place. Based on an averaging. May want to try a different company??- joecool509

Inverter Question
Just put a proper fuse on the battery side of the cable. The inverter fuse only protects the inverter not if the wire becomes grounded. You should be good. by keeping the car running the voltage will be higher and the current will be lower so you can use a smaller gauge wire. Hope this helps!- joecool509

Any rust should be surface. we don't have salt in the northwest (kills the salmon :) ) I do have some surface rust color but no flaking. The bodies are good for 10years at least. As for walking away, if it is under warranty then give it a chance. I have 40K on my 07 and have zero issues so far...- joecool509

Inverter Question
1600w / 12v nominal = 133amps. You want a 125Amp fuse inline with this supply and placed as close to the battery as possible. Get some welding cable (gauged appropriately for distance) for this kind of power. The fuses they sell for amps work just fine. or you can bolt them inline if it is...- joecool509

HID installed
One thing is for sure. I took a pair of Hella 500FF and replaced the bulbs with a 35W 6K HID kit and made a world of difference over the 100w H3 Bulbs I had. Of course these would only be used off road only so legality is not debatable. This is a much cheaper option than buying HID off road lights.- joecool509

You may have just had an air bubble that needed to be worked out. Did it happen quickly after leaving? Air expands quite a bit more when it gets hot and may have pushed the fluid into the reservoir.- joecool509

New tires and Front Bearings
The heavier tires have a greater rotational weight and could put more stress on the bearings. A lot of us run even larger tires with out issue. It should clear up once the bearings are replaced. I am not much a risk taker and would not drive it back to the shop or you will be replacing more than...- joecool509

BLack box solutions CAN-mate SRT has a module that will do it for about 90$. That is all it will do though. gap-diagnostics told me there code reader will do it eventually (it is upgradable). My service minder hasn't been reset in over a year. at least it doesn't leave a light on the dash.- joecool509

I just received my IID unit and it worked great after working through some initial issues. They had flashed the wrong software prior to shipment but it did not do anything to my LR3. Always a plus! How do I hardwire Iphone power and aux sound to HK stereo NAV/SAT/CD chg
You can splice into the aux connection, there is a thread on disco3. As far as power, I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish? Other than using the cig lighter or aux power connection. I have Pm'd you the link.- joecool509

Transmission doesn't like towing
I recommend using the m/s and putting in 5th. It is hard on the tranny in 6th to pull a trailer. I have towed 3500 to 4000# trailers with no issue. This may help identify the issue.- joecool509
