    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

Yeah, handhelds would probably work if its just the two of us. I'd recommend just biting the bullet and buying a CB if its between the two though, since that is the standard for most clubs, rallys, etc. I think I picked my CB and antenna up for less than $100, and spent a day running cables...

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

Cool, let's plan on meeting around 8:45 in Westcreek then, and head out from there by 9. I've also got all the basic recovery equipment (straps, shackles, chain, hi lift, shovels, etc.), and no winch...but that is why you bring 2 trucks . I don't foresee anyone getting stuck though, as...

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

Cool, sounds good. Let's plan on that then, and if we come up with anything better we'll adjust. Haven't gotten any more responses from the Solihull forum, but it usually takes a little while to get replies over there. Any thoughts on time? Like I mentioned, I wouldn't mind getting a pretty...

That could work. I'm not sure if there are actually any fuel stations in Westcreek (and can't tell from Google's satellite imagery), but we could meet up at the intersection of Westcreek Rd (CO 73) and CO 68 (Stump Rd). Stump Rd/CO 68/CO 33 is the dirt road we'll need to take to access the...

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

Cool, so we will pass on Hall Valley then. Let's maybe plan on Hackett, and if things change/time permits, we can run Longwater or Metberry. I'll post to the Solihull forum in just a few, and I'll also send Matt an email. Any time/place you prefer to meet? I'll likely be coming south through...

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

Don't think my friend is going to make it, as he hasn't managed to get tires put on yet (among a bunch of other things preventing him from coming). I would be up for giving Longwater/Hackett a go, or Hall Valley. Starting to think that Slaughterhouse might be crowded on a Saturday. It's pretty...

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

I just ran China Wall with the Solihull Society this past Saturday, so it would be nice to do something different. I would be in for any of the trails I posted, however keep in mind that Metberry/Hackett/Longwater are accessed by a 20 mile long Forest Service road, so that trip is much longer...

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

Panzer, How about Slaughterhouse Gulch or Hall Valley? The Rampart Range area is still closed (through May 7th), so that kills a lot of our CO Springs area options. We could also drive a little further and try the Metberry/Hackett/Longwater Gulch trails; Metberry was pretty easy when I was...

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

Sounds good, Panzer. I'll try to come up with something. My buddy just took delivery of an LR3 on Saturday, so I imagine he will want to get it out on something fairly mellow this weekend as well. I'll post to this thread with some options once I take a look. -Paul

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

Cool. Not sure if I can make the Solihull BBQ run, as it's my friend's birthday that day and we will be doing something for that. I would be in for doing something Saturday, and we could keep it fairly mellow so that sliders are not a requirement. You have any suggestions on where you'd like to...

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

Panzer, Welcome back. I've been out and about with the Solihull Society the last few weeks, and all of the trails we have run have been clear of snow. So far, we've run Metberry Gulch, Chinaman Gulch and China Wall (all in valleys and south of town, so that would explain the lack of snow). I...

    CB Radio

Firstly - Ryan, that setup is awesome. Second, I actually just did this in my LR3, and I ended up mounting a cobra radio (not sure of which one at the moment) in the center console cubby box. This allows me to store the mic in the box with the radio, and still use the little cover over...

    LR3 Tire size question

My Nittos are almost a full 1.5" bigger than the factory tires, and I've never encountered any problems with the anti-lock system or suspension. Of course the overall ride will be affected, as you are changing the only part of your car that actually touches the road. If anything, though, my ride...

    LR3 Tire size question

SoCal - Living in Colorado, my truck has seen an awful lot of snow. We've had several snowstorms over 12" this year, and I've never needed chains, even heading up to the mountains to ski. There would definitely be some issues with clearance if needed, though (as in, no way would they...

    LR3 Tire size question

You should have no problem getting the 265/60/18s to fit. I have run the 285/60/18 Nitto Terra Grappler A/Ts on both of my LR3s, and while they are super close to the A-arm and rub just a tiny bit at full lock, I have never had a problem with them. The 265 will definitely be a narrower tire, so...

    New, with a question

Yeah, it was a strange one. Mine was also an 06, and I have not had the problem with my 07. The hoses are just popped onto a connector end, without anything but the barb of the connector holding them on. I think I used a small zip tie (or maybe a little duct tape??) to fasten it a little better.

    New, with a question

A second thing to check, as this happened to mine once, would be the hoses that connect to the washers. Somehow I managed to pop them off, and the washer fluid was just spraying out of the hose into my hood liner, and not onto my windshield. -Paul

    Service Manual (aka Shop Manual)????

I think I read somewhere (maybe on the UK forum) that there is currently no printed manual available for the LR3. You can use the Land Rover Global Technical Reference though, which has pretty much anything you could need. www.landrovertechinfo.com You'll need to create an account and pay...

For all the negative posts...how about a positive one?

Completely agreed. I have been driving my LR3(s) from Colorado to Pennsylvania and back at least once a year for the last 4 years (with my wife and 2 large dogs, plus luggage for 2 weeks stay). One time, to save miles and fuel, we took my wife's work car, an Audi Q7...I've never taken anything...

    Denver/Boulder Area Trails This Weekend

Hey Everyone, Another friend with an LR3 and I are thinking about running something fairly close to the Denver/Boulder area this weekend, likely on Saturday. Considering Lefthand Canyon or some others in the general vicinity. Let me know if you have any interest in joining! Thanks, Paul

Random LR3 Startup Issue - Ideas?

So I was installing a CB in my 07 LR3 this weekend, and managed to completely kill my battery in the process (radio was on with the doors open). What's interesting is that since this happened, with the exception of when I jumped it, every time I attempt to start the vehicle I need to turn the...

Hey RvDUB, I think myself and one of the other Solihull Society guys are going to try to head down to Metbury Gulch tomorrow (4/9) sometime, if you are interested. Let me know! Here's a link to the trail description: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=209 -Paul

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

Yeah, I thought that was you, Matt...haha. I try to make my rounds to all of the forums, hunting for parts and people to wheel with. That run at Jenny Creek was definitely a good time, sorry to hear about the exhaust...I currently still have a basketball sized dent in my fuel tank. I'm...

    Rocky Mountain summertime trails.

I agree with the post above...the LR3 will go most places with good tires and enough guts. Also, I'm pretty sure I've been out on some trails with BldrRover, and after seeing the 2 inch lift from the modified rods, I bought a set of my own. I keep them in the glovebox and swap them out when...
