Mixed feelings about this. Definitely do not like the exterior look for two reasons: 1. Looks like another derivation of a Ford Explorer. 2. I played the game of looking closely to identify the differences between this new Disco and the current gen Range Rovers. IMO the Discovery/LR iconic...
After getting my first door ding (passenger side), I purchased and DIY installed the all black side moulding. The instructions for measuring were very confusing but I figured it out - it took me about 20 minutes just to decide what the directions were telling me. Once I marked the vehicle per...
Anyone ever have a small ding in the sheet metal repaired? My first one showed up the other week. Smaller than the size of a dime. Just enough to chip the paint and obscure the light when it bounces of the sheet metal. Are these even repairable for a reasonable price?
It is the same. The black plastic housing of the LR4 filter that I removed has the same "ID" number as the Jaguar filter albeit with different "born on" dates.
Jag Oil Filter
Hi all,
I requested a quote from my local LandRover/Jaguar Dealer for a Jaguar Oil Filter #W0133-1891127. The parts desk came back with a different Jaguar part number for the 5.0 engine --> C2D3670.
Can anyone verify that is also a correct Jaguar oil filter part# for our LR4s...
Hi all,
Does anyone else experience a clicking/switching noise when toggling the front fogs on/off? It seems to be coming from behind the dash near the passenger side top glove box.
The sound, for me, happens every time I turn the front fogs ON, not off.
One would think fairly simple, however I had to make some adjustments with my extended rails (I forgot to tighten down one of the hex screws) and experienced two areas to watch out for:
1. I tried to remote the front trim "cap" on one side and decided against it because it would not snap free...
wow, I procrastinated on this but got it installed over the holiday week. Very easy except for the part where you have to use a 19mm circular hole saw to cut into the trim. Also, I was not afraid of the glass while installing - it was not a factor for me.
Hi all,
I have a lukewarm steering wheel when the heating element is turned on. It is not even close to how toasty warm my Range Rover heated steering wheel would get. Is this normal operating behavior?
Thanks!
No, one must remove the entire door panel to access getting behind this wood strip. To make you feel better these wood panels develop a noisy sound over time; local dealer told me they will put some sound foam behind those panels when they start rattling.
Got them from my local dealer who came very close to price matching an Internet price. I have not had a chance to DIY yet, I need to go buy a 19mm hole saw.
Accessory bug - got my next accessory to install (Extended Roof Rails)
After plenty of research using this Forum and searching the Internets, I finally picked up my next Accessory to install: Extended Roof Rails.
Will let you know if I decide to DIY like I did my tail lamp guards or leave it...
I apparently missed those on Tirerack -- Thank you!!!
It is a large enough puncture that it spans into the sidewall, not just the flat. Fingers crossed that the local tire center can repair it but it does not look promising.
Hi all,
I unavoidably ran over some vehicle accident debris last night and punctured my right rear tire. Spent a good amount of time in a grocery store parking lot changing it.
Here's the issue: All of my existing tires have about 3,200 miles on them, the full size spare has 0 (zero) -...
All done!
Took me 4.5 hours but I spent 1.5 hours marking the holes and then triple guessing, then checking again :)
Turned out great!
The close up picture doesn't really show it well but the lamp guards are touching the body of the vehicle as they should.
Didn't need a rivnut gun -...
Congrats, great deal!! BTW, I kicked the throttle down on the freeway while stuck at 70mph. The V8 got me to 80+ and passing in a blink! I am thinking no SCV6 will do that for this heavy rig at that speed.
Ok, I think I figured out the correct "fitment" of the tail lamp guards... I stumbled up on this picture/angle in the LR Accessory catalog. It looks like the plastic guards are supposed to be snug against the body.
