I'd go invest $20 in a new brake light switch at that mileage and fit it yourself. It's a ten minute job. Sounds odd but the brake switch does feed stuff to a number of the ECU systems and if the contacts are breaking down, then garbage in, garbage out in computing terms. -

There isn’t a sensor/switch for the gas cap or the door. It's part of the "maybe this is why the EVAP system triggered a fault" - often it's a loose or poor sealing cap but can be something more involved. Fault codes should help. So sadly, I doubt paper clips will do much here ;-) -
