    Quote on brush bar

I did the ARB myself. It's not a piece of cake, but not too difficult. I did mine in my unheated garage in January with a pprtable heater. I'd say it took me about 10 hours and my install included a winch and driving lamps, which take extra time to mount and wire up. The diciest part is...

    Rovertym Announces LR3 Front Bumper!

ARB weight "I'm taking a guess that a winch ranges around 75-125lbs and a heavy duty ARB bumper around 200-300lbs... that's potentially close to 400lbs hanging off the front of your truck... and if you're in mud or sand, this could make your truck just dive head first into the softer stuff..."...

    Rovertym Announces LR3 Front Bumper!

No info up yet, but I wonder about pricing. I still like the lines of the ARB's brush bar better on the LR3. Also, I like that the ARB had a bit of rubber on it to avoid immediate contact with paint in a tight parking scenario. But then I'm already invested and somewhat biased. Go ARB!

Mud Flaps - Anybody Happy With Them??? Cool or Uncool..

I have them. They are functional for keeping wheel spray off of the body, esp. in the rear. They are an expendable item off-road. I have torn off my front ones wheeling. So they are not as beefy or as flexible as maybe they should be. I think they protect the paint well enough in everyday...

    Taking the Rover off road

Get going! The LR3 is the most capable stock off-road vehicle I have owned since my old Jeep CJ. I do a fair amount of wheeling and I'm still looking forward to getting sliders someday, so you don't "need" that stuff. The exceptioon is tires. Get some tires made for off-roading. The key to...

    Yet another AT tire ?

For me (after having Nitto TG's) the extra ply in the sidewall made me choose the BFG AT/KOs. I'm on rocks alot and a couple of times I was worried about the sidewall durability of the Nittos (although they held up for almost 25K miles).

    Thanks for being here!

I would like to express my thanks to this forum's sponsor(s) and all of you for what a great resource you make this forum. Yesterday I decided to take my truck to an automatic car wash to get rid of half a winter's salt and grime on a 25 degree day (or I would have washed it myself). Sure...

    Has anyone's "transmission jerk" returned?

Mine is still fixed, even after I had them correct the same thing you had-"cruise control not available." In fact, supposedly I have had the transmission upgrade twice, although after the "first" time I noticed no or maybe just a little improvement. It was after my dealer addressed the cruuise...

    I'm Out shopping, HD Question

My 2005 SE has the HD package. Your dealer is whacked on this one.

    Tool Kit

Everything LR is metric. I carry a box with a recovery kit (and I have a mounted winch), jumper cables, small wrench set, screw drivers, duct tape, extra oil and flares. I also carry a decent jack, since the OEM one is a POS, and an air compressor, since my spare is aired down to fit in the...

Do you carry a weapon in your truck?

I have a SW 9mm, but only carry it when I go to the desert to target shoot.

    Battery Questions

I paid about $175 for the battery. The new terminal and the battery came to $190.

    Battery Questions

I've always had poor luck with OEM batteries. My 2005 SE battery went bad after 2/12 years. I didn't even think to try to have it covered under warranty. I just went and bought a big Die Hard Gold and put it in. It fits, not as nice as the OEM, but it works. I had to change the positive...

ARB aftermarket bull bar winch bumper for LR3

I have heard that, but I think there is enough clearance to get them out. If not, lowering the bar off it's mounts means removing 6 bolts. How often do you replace headlamps?

    "Cruise Control Not Available"

Todd- I have had this happen about 3 times. You are right, it usually happens when I am doing alot of messing with the cruise, turning it on and off frequently due to driving conditions or downshifting descending a hill to control speed while the cruise is on. Like you, the cruise won't work...

ARB aftermarket bull bar winch bumper for LR3

As Boaz notes, once the fender flares are cut, they would have to be replaced if you wanted to restore the stock look. You also have to cut the plastic wheel well linings to make them fit the ARB's better angle of approach. Otherwise these hang down below the bottom of the ARB bumper and are...

ARB aftermarket bull bar winch bumper for LR3

ARB bar I installed my own bar. It was not hard to do if one is the least mechanically inclined. The hardest part was cutting the plastic fender flares to get a straight, clean finish (I used a circular saw). The directions provided are really quite good. My 2005 SE does not have the front...

    Plastic Bumpers

An OEM Bumper costs about 1/2 of an ARB (if you can resist adding a winch, driving lights and such googaa). The install can be done by a normal human much cheaper than a professional install. You will never have to pound out such a dent again with an ARB. Removal of the OEM bumper cover is...

    Tire wear, second alignment

I think this is something you have to have done regularly or keep a close eye on. I have had my left rear Terra Grappler worn more to the inside at 20,000 mi.. I switched the spare onto that wheel at an alignment and have not noticed bad wear again after another 5000.

Anyone have an ARB bull bar?

ARB Bars are advertised as "air-bag compatible." The bar mounts to the same frame points as the original OE bumber bar under the plastic bumper cover. The brackets which fit to the frame rails and onto which the bumper mounts, have crumple zones to absorb impact before transmitting force of...

    LR3 Low Coolant Warning...

I had the same deal. First time it went on, the coolant was ok and I had the sensor replaced. Next time it went on, I filled the coolant reservoir and the notification went off. No problem since. I guess it does work. Nice to get all of the bugs fixed and have the whole truck work though.

Anyone have an ARB bull bar?

I am excited that I finally have my new ARB bar, winch and driving lights installed and ready to roll. I had the bar powder coated before installing it myself. The color is not an exact match, but it's pretty good and the durable finish will be worth it. I just didn't like the look in factory...

Towing - Who has towed what?

Same here- I tow a 19' boat (probably about 4500 lbs.) and find my LR3 an excellent tow vehicle- better than my Ford Expedition with the big V-8. Only issue I have had is the poorly designed tow hitch which sticks down too low and hangs up on driveway ramps. I have to go into off-road height...

    Who stands on their roof??

I stand on the roof rails ( when loading stuff on my Yakima rack or basket) and have had no problems- I weigh 160. I'd never stand on the sheet metal or the glass.
