    Vibration when accelerating

Uh...I think you mean 94 Exploder! :-) I had one of those, too. I'm sorry to hear that you hate your LR3. The vibration problem is the only one that I've had on my '06 HSE. I love this vehicle and I really hope that they come up with a fix soon. I suspect the torque converter but getting...

    TAILGATE Open

Mine only closes properly about half the time. If it really is closed and you still have this problem, I'm sure a quick trip to the dealer is in order.

    Premium fuel?

Thank you, Nathan, for helping me keep a bit of dignity. When I first read about someone wanting to put regular gasoline in their LR, I almost immediately fired back "Buy a Chevy!" But your very eloquent Ten Commandments helped me bite my tongue. Thanks pal! Oh wait...Damn, I did it again...

Snow / tire chains for LR3

Do a search for snow chains. There have been a few threads lately with a lot of good information. There are plenty of solutions well below $900. I picked up a set of Go Claws (www.flextrax.com) for about $100. I haven't needed them yet, but I did do a trial fitting and they seem just fine.

Could you please elaborate? Are you saying that there is a TSB out for this problem? Do you know what the TSB# is?

    New LR3 owner in CO

When Car and Driver did their 40K mile road test on the LR3, they used Nokian snow tires. I've never heard of them before, but here's a quote straight from the review... "SNOW TIRES: As the gales of December came howling in, we substituted the all-season Goodyear Wrangler HPs for 255/50R-19...

    Voice Recognition Problem

The easiest was to change the language is to click on the globe icon when the Nav screen first appears. This will take you directly to language settings and then you can choose which version of English (UK or US) and the gender. This is also available in the settings menu, but without sitting...

Tire Pressure Monitors And Daytime Running Lights

JackMac, Isn't it just like NHTSA to make TPMS mandatory for light vehicles but not make a law that all gas stations provide free air for motorists? All EU countries do this! I wonder how many more people would check their tires regularly if free air was available at every gas station?

Tire Pressure Monitors And Daytime Running Lights

Houm, mine is a '06. I know that my TPMs work because I was driving through Montana last month and I got a "Spare Tire Pressure Is Low" warning on the info display. I stopped at a gas station, lowered the tire, and found it was down to 28psi. All in all, I was pretty impressed. I mean, how...

    Oil for the LR3

I started a thread on this very subject a few months ago and it generated a lot of good discussion. You can view it here: http://www.landroverworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4381 FYI, I know there are dealerships out there that have taken it upon themselves to use synthetic oils and you...

    cruise control wont engage

I don't have the manual in front of me either, but it's my understanding that the button that techboy refers to as the 'on' button is actually the 'resume' button. If there was a speed already set in the memory this may explain why it seems to work occasionally. Please correct me if I'm...

Tire Pressure Monitors And Daytime Running Lights

I'm not sure about the other models, but my HSE has tire pressure monitors - even on the spare. However, IMO, this does not replace using a gauge at least once a month. The TPM will only alert you if pressure is to too low to be safe, not necessarly when it's too low to cause premature tire wear.

Is rear (2nd row) middle seat headrest removable?

Also, I think that you'll find your auto dimming rear view mirror works better with that middle row headrest removed. Whenever cars get close up from behind, that headrest will cast a shawow on the mirror and made it stop dimming. I just read that last sentence back to myself and doubt if it...

This is old news. Also, these results were compiled before the 2006 LR3s were being delivered. Why post this anyway?

DIY Oil and Filter Change - 10K miles - Tips

From experience, I don't think you'll be able to get to the filter from the top. I didn't try it myself, but removing the skid plates isn't that much trouble. I guess it just depends on how hands-on you like to be. Personally, I didn't trust the quickie lube guys and didn't want to give the...

DIY Oil and Filter Change - 10K miles - Tips

I just changed my oil last week for the first time. I figure that I'll let LR pick up the tab every 7500 miles and I'll do one in between services. I only paid $16 for the filter at my stealer and skipped the drain plug washer. If LR is going to replace that washer every time they change my...
