    22 MPG @ 75mph

I went from Boulder, CO to Lake Powell UT last week. 1000 miles roundtrip and the LR3 was loaded to the roof on the way there. It's through the mountains and a fair amount of 2 lane roads. I drove 80MPH on the highways and 70MPH on the two lanes. Averaged 19.8MPG hand calulated for the whole...

    LR3 vs RR Sport

I'm really surprised to hear you say the LR3 is quieter and rides better. I guess it's the longer wheel base and maybe the tires with some additional sidewall. Thanks for the post from someone who knows.

    LR3 vs RR Sport

I'm in Boulder. The RRS size was a killer for me. 5500lbs or so and not much room behind the seats just didn't bolt up even if the luxury was great. That's why I'd buy a big one if I had a do over. With either RR I'd feel a little guilty with the salt and so on in TO.

    LR3 vs RR Sport

I bought my LR3 about 4 months ago and really flip flopped between it and a RRS. The RRS is much nicer on the inside but gives up a lot of utility. I also didn't feel like spending >$70K on something that was going to see mostly bad weather. I was looking for more of a road warrior. Unless...

    New Buyer

I picked up a leftover '06. I had intial problems with the ride height sensors, a gas cap and I had them confirm alignment. Once those things were sorted the truck has run without issue. I've come to expect some sorting on the front end on every car, even my wifes Lexus. Averaging 16.7 MPG...

    aux lights

My advice would be to be careful screwing around with the electrical system if you don't have experience with it. Multiple opportunities for shorts, surges and fires. What needs to happen is to have an adequate relay between your power source and the lights or accessory with a fuse or...

    Fuel cap loose or missing?

At first blush, lubing the gas cap seems a bit excessive. However, I'm pretty sure the gasket on mine got a light crinkle in it when it was below 0 here. This caused a trip to the dealer, parts being ordered and so on. If there was a dab of lube there's little doubt it would have been fine.

    Fuel cap loose or missing?

Mr. Gore couldn't respond as the cabin noise in the G5 was unusually high but I'm sure I can speak for his gas cap concerns. At any rate, the LR3 is back and all is well. Hopefully, for a long time. The ride height sensors were replaced and all is quiet with the suspension. The gas cap was...

    Fuel cap loose or missing?

It's cool but everybody has run closed loop fuel systems for a long time and none of my other cars spit error codes for them. It also can't be reset via OBDII but must be reset with their proprietary SW switch. Love the truck but there is a fine line between character and bad manners. My LR3...

    Fuel cap loose or missing?

They said it might be that or a bad gas cap. It's is being checked as we speak and the new ride height sensors are being put in. Minor nit stuff but chicken little warnings drive me nuts. I hope they can get it stabilized.

    Fuel cap loose or missing?

I'm getting an error message saying the fuel cap is loose or missing. It isn't. Does this reset itself after a bit I do I need to go to a dealer to reset? Thanks.

    Premium fuel?

Nada. Lower octane doesn't burn cleaner and all the fuels from major companies have the same additives across their line. I am picky about using Shell or the other major oil cos. gasoline. Hard to tell where the thrid parties have bought it and what additives are in it. It's a...

    susjpension tech question

It was in the dealer this week. It looks like the SW is current. The air suspension is schizophrenic in cold <20degree weather. They had a bunch of them come in with the same problem during the cold snap. The fix per LR is new ride height sensors which are on order and should be here in two...

What upgrades are there after a 6/06 build? I thought the SW was pretty stable after 12/05. Thanks

    Suspension alert question #2

THey are keeping over the weekend and putting in 3 ride height sensors on Monday. We shall see.

    Suspension alert question #2

It's the amber light on the left side of the panel. I just took it in to the dealer. They think it is a ride height sensor. We'll see. Once it's on it stays on until the car is restarted and it's not related to cold, conditions, or anything else I can ascertain.

    Suspension alert question #2

I bought a dealer -06 (6/06 build) LR3 with 5500 miles on it. All is well, very well in fact, except I keep getting random "suspension alert" warnings and the gong. It resets when I turn the ignition on and off but it happens a couple of times a day. I can't tie it to any activity or...

Tire options for LR3 SE, 18" rims

Good news and thanks. As soon as the GY's are gone I'll go with the bigger shoes. I don't what it is with GY the past couple of years. Every time I end up with a set I think they are just alright and I'm anxious to get something else. I've got a set of GY high performance runflats on a...

6 weeks old LR3 - check engine light number 4, should I contact a Lawyer?

Good advice and as always putting it in writing and having an audit trail is what matters in these types of issues. What a hassle. I couldn't live with the CEL being on even if it's a bogus fault.

Land Rover Class Action suit - Tires

If you've been buying from this dealer for 15 years and they will not comp. you an alignment you've either got a horrible dealer or horrible relations. I just don't get wound up about something that is a $100 item to fix. It's not as much about right or wrong, it's just a bad investment in...

    New LR3 owner in CO

It's hard to reconcile anything more than a Camry in my mind. It's all fun after that. I think the RRS is the coolest thing in the product line. I need more room and the RRS is cool enough that it's starts getting into the "fussy" car category for me. I'd be more careful where I parked it...

    New LR3 owner in CO

I sucked so bad on the ice it was humiliating. Had everything hooked up on the practice run and couldn't find any stick in the real elimination. I track cars a lot so it was funny that I was inept.
