Does anyone have a good recommendation on skip plates for the Lower Control Arms? Thanks in advance.

    Air Suspension Performance

Hi, I just got a new compressor, center valve block assembly and two new front air struts. ($2800) The rise from Access to Off-Road is 4". The back struts go from 34" to 38" in about 25 seconds. The front take about 35 seconds for the first 3 inches and 98 seconds to get to the full 4...

Tactical 4x4 Bumper vs Honda Accord. And the Winner is???

Here’s what happens when you decide to make a right turn from the center lane. No real damage to the LR4. The Honda definitely took it on the chin. I drove away, but the Honda required a flatbed tow truck.

Is an LR4 Body Lift Possible?

Very good question! Forgot about the sliders though... I think I will go straight to the source and give him a call. Thanks!

Is an LR4 Body Lift Possible?

Hi @txfromwi, yes I do recognize that is a possibility and one way of getting it done. But, I am not so interested in that solution. @mm3846, summed it up just about perfectly. He stated, "I like the idea. Raise the body and run whatever tire, and keep air suspension at normal height so you...

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

Want to say thank you to everyone that participated in my poll. Much appreciated. The top three upgrades as you all suggested were: 1) Under Armor Protection 2) Roof Rack 3) Rear Bumper w/ Tire Carrier 3) Second Battery Looks like I have my work cutout on deciphering all the choices...

Is an LR4 Body Lift Possible?

@HarryO Thanks for the input my friend. Not exactly what I was looking for though. My San Moritz LR4 has the following mods. - Johnson Rods 2.5 - Compomotive Wheels PD 1880 - Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T 275-65R18 (32.5") I am curious about the feasibility a 1.25" body lift...

Is an LR4 Body Lift Possible?

Just curious. Has anyone done a "body" lift for their LR3 / LR4?

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

I’m going to give a shoutout to Penske Land Rover. Every time I took my truck in for a scheduled service, they would comp my Discovery Sport or Jag rental. I know I was paying a premium for service BUT, I never had to come back because it wasn’t fixed right the first time. That includes a few...

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

I’m thinking you shouldn’t pay more than $225. I paid $150, but I did help with the job a little bit.

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

LOL. I hear ya on that! Sometimes you'd rather back out from the trouble you got yourself into, instead of pulling yourself deeper into the mucky muck!! I think I'm going to get myself an inexpensive tow mount winch in addition to whatever else I do. I do like the input from everyone. It...

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

Thanks for the link. I saw both fiberglass and aluminum. If you were to purchase them again, which material would you opt for? Thanks

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

@greiswig - You are absolutely right, some vehicles, and people for that matter, get in over their heads and didn't have the forethought to have an exit plan. Of course, every (good) exit plan starts with being prepared from the get go. I'm not very keen on tearing up equipment. But I am very...

    Updated sources for skid plating?

Tactical 4X4 out of California is a good source for Land Rover armor. Especially the bumpers and rock sliders.

It’s a deal. First things first. Under armor protection. I’ll keep this thread updated on my progress. Bridging ladders hmm , I’ll have to check that out.

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

Well that was a s****y answer to say the least. I haven't been to the dealer for brakes in a very long time. Currently, I go to my long time Land Rover mechanic all all my services. I have not experienced any brake issues when I have had my brakes done at his garage.

    Quick Compressor Replacement Question

My compressor gave up the ghost today. Having a CPO 2012 LR4 HSE with 178,500 miles, I am pretty satisfied with the overall life of the compressor. I had Newport Beach Land Rover dealer run my VIN and I was informed that my compressor is a Hitachi compressor as well. Did you guys end up...

    Quick Compressor Replacement Question

HAHA - Looks like I found my answer. You're right. "I love the air suspension, and after what I have put this truck through, I think 10 years of trouble-free service is fantastic." That is exactly how I would sum it up!

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

@Daveykid Yes, you assume correctly. A year, after the fact won’t help it. I find that long life brake pads seem to be the most prone to squeal. My thinking is the brake pad material is really hard (think lifetime brake warranty)and because of that, it is more prone to glazing over. It’s just...

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

Its design purpose is to help prevent glazing when brakes are brand new during the break-in period. Also, the carbon particles are a mix of nano sized particles and larger particles that are jagged. Thus braking is not compromised and yes, the material does embed itself into the pad with the...
