4 awg is more than enough, but I think you can go up to 2 awg. I highly recommend marine wire or OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper) and stick to AWG (American Wire Gauge) sizes. Not a fan of CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum). -

My observation from driving both is the zf8 has closer gear ratios and has more efficient shifting points. I care about the 2 mpgs, especially when I'm getting 10-12 mpg from mix city and freeway driving. On sand/dirt/off road, I average 7-9 mpgs. -

From the sounds of it, it's the rear crossover pipe. And while you're at it, you should change out the front crossover pipe as well. On these trucks, plastic has a limited life span and they will crack after a couple of years. I believe there are some aluminum ones, but I'm not sure about...
