5.0 LR4 oil catch can non turbo

You'll need to pop off the PCV tube between the PCV valve cover and throttle body and remove the plastic end connectors with a heat gun. The ONLY non-collapsing vacuum tube I found useful was either 5/8" stainless steel braided hose or nylon braided hose and using AN10 fittings. I couldn't find...

    Failing alternator?

Don't feel bad, I'm on the same boat dealing with power issues for YEARS. I'm on my 3rd alternator and 4th battery. I haven't had time to check it out, but a few members on here pointed something out to me and will soon dig into that rabbit hole a bit deeper. Long story short, there are 3 PWM...

5.0 LR4 oil catch can non turbo

Check out this thread... https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/djkaosone-to-the-courtesy-phone-oil-catch-cans.41865/#post-216812 You'll need a single oil catch can on bank 1 (RH looking from inside the cabin). You'll catch a lot of oil coming off the PCV valves on the valve cover.

    Diagnosing AC Trouble

Mine did this a while back with similar symptoms. I recharged the r134 freon and it was on point with no leaks, but the warm air symptoms were still there. Turns out that my AC compressor was the issue even though you can see/hear the clutch engaging. I ended up replacing it with a reman AC...

Relocating the two hoses in the right rear wheel well

I followed the same post, BUT I decided to run it around the behind the rear right strut. You'll want 12 ft of 5/8" heater hose, 6ft for each pipe. I simply removed the hose clip, put in the new hose and new hose clamped it. It's not that bad of a job. The hardest part of it was really following...

RESOLVED - Audible knocking noise from air suspension compressor - replace or rebuild?

I've used this one with good success. Hitachi Piston rebuild or just search on Amazon for "X8R Hitachi", they have a lot for it. As far as the drier goes, get oem. I had a few rebuild kits or new aftermarket that either leaked or cap totally blew up.

    Charging System Fault

I noticed that, does that mean it's only on the new models with the start/stop "feature"? So, what connectors should I start tracing? Should I focus on connector C2242L first? I have the wiring diagram, I guess, I'll just ohm test a bunch of connectors around the charging system.

    Charging System Fault

Ok, I've been meaning to ask. Where are these 2 connectors located? I need to check mine as well. According to the Connector Quick Reference Guide, C2242L (highlighted in blue) is on the RH kick panel, but I can't find C2531L.

    Safari Gard Hippo Hitch

If anyone is interested in getting this, Scott just posted that a new batch is done and ready to ship. It's $475 shipped to the lower 48 or $450 to anywhere else. BTW, I have zero affiliations with the guy.

RESOLVED - Audible knocking noise from air suspension compressor - replace or rebuild?

If you have a Hitachi, there are kits to rebuild your piston to increase compression. AMK is not rebuildable at this point in time. You should probably take the compressor out whether it's the Hitachi or AMK and bench test it for the knocking sound. Just add 12v power to hear it run and then...

Lower Front Control Arms - Replacement - DIY Video

I did mine on jack stands with zero issues. This is the easiest way to separate the axles.

    Air compressor hose disconnection????

For future notes, it's a push-to-connect fitting. Push the plastic ring inwards, push the hose in and then pull out. Glad you figured it out.

    LR4 Air Intake Insulation

CEL: P0261 Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low - Time for Injector Job?

Injectors typically go bad when they are clogged up and overworks itself to death. If you have the Gap IID Tool, check the pulse width live values for each injector. You'll quickly find which ones are "off". Glad you found my post, it's not that hard to replace if you have the right tools and...

Yet another potential timing chain issue?

It's not as noisy without the belt tensioner, but its still a bit noisy due to loose chains.

    Considering a Used LR4 Purchase - Engine/PowerTrain Reflashed 4 times ?

My guess it was in for routine transmission oil changes, and some service books only recommends reflashing the transmission after servicing (oil changes, filter changes, servicing the valves, complete replacement, etc...) the transmission.

Yet another potential timing chain issue?

Someone mentioned that it takes 2 people to check. 1 to start the truck and the other to use an automotive stethoscope against the valve cover to listen for the slightest chain noise or sound variance within the first 2 seconds of starting the truck. You'll want to do this on bank 1 and bank 2...

Yet another potential timing chain issue?

That honestly sounds like the belt tensioner. That's a $125 part that you can definitely do yourself. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/land-rover-belt-tensioner-primary-range-rover-range-rover-sport-genuine-rover-rov-lr035546 If you're adamant about doing your timing chains, which I highly...

    XLifter and stock settings

If you have it setup to default at a certain height and changing the height to -25mm, it simply reduces the current height by 25mm. Same principle applies at any settings from default height. Just remember that you cannot go beyond the limits. Meaning if you have it set default to off-road...

    Normal Coolant Level Drop?

Sounds like a slow leak somewhere. Or maybe, there's a bit of air pockets bleeding out the system. Either way, it's a good thing that you're keeping an eye on it. Cooling issues are pretty serious on these trucks, and it could lead to overheating and catastrophic failure (head gasket and new motor).

    Towing upgrades

Agreed. That's my only gripe about it. My swing out bike rack was 3/4" too long and I didn't want to cut it. So, I sold the bike rack.

Outside temp reads -40 after new bumper installed.

Unfortunately, you'll need a new temp sensor. Unfortunately, you'll need a new front lower air guide that comes with it. I have a new in box lower air guide with the sensor if you need one.

Timing chain - advice - sigh

Unfortunately, that sounds bad. If the tensioners and guides were done recently, then I'm pretty sure it has something to do with those parts. I had 2 brand new tensioners not fully extend. I unknowingly threw them out and got new ones. In your case, you can simply pull the tensioners out, fully...
