    2011 LR4 Apple CarPlay upgrade?

Video in Motion is different from Carplay. The Video in Motion allows you to use the factory screen as if the truck is in (P)ark and parking brakes on while you're in motion or (D)rive. I got this, because it's super dangerous to drive, reach behind the headrest while pointing your dvd remote...

    Control arm questions

Typically, it's the Front LCAs that go first. You'll know from the big clunking sound going over speed bumps or turning. I got the Lucky8 LCA with poly bushings kit. Pretty easy to install, considering I didn't have any major rust. As far as the rear goes, put it off until you hear something...

    Replacement Mityvac hose adapter

I had silicone vacuum hoses laying around and that works pretty darn well. Just google "Silicone Vacuum Hose" and find the Inner Diameter (ID) of the hose that fits the Outer Diameter (OD) of the Mityvac tube. It's fairly inexpensive.

PSI for BFG KO2? Normal and Towing

Winter? Depends, winter in San Diego, CA. normal pressure. I run 40F/45R I'm assuming winter with snow conditions is what you're after. I was recently up in Truckee or Lake Tahoe, CA and there were record breaking snow conditions where majority of the roads were covered in snow. This is where...

    Front skid plate options?

For the record, I added a 3 or 4 inch straight bar to relocate the rubber dampener and it still works. The skid plate doesn't hang as low.

    P0087 Fuel Pressure

You should ask about this TSB. https://www.draytondistributors.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/LandRover_TSB_LTB00409NAS2d_BG-206-Air-Intake_BG-208-44K.pdf

magnaflow on LR4 - any ground clearance issues?

Yup, that's what I did a while back and it's good enough to have a conversation in the car. I hear more wind noise coming from my A Piller shrouds than a constant drone. When downshifting on Sport mode on a downgrade slope is probably the best part, backfires!

    2011 LR4 Apple CarPlay upgrade?

Great write-up! I would love to have this installed too! I already have my Video-in-Motion installed and don't feel like shelling out another couple hundos for Apple CarPlay. I'm going to do a poor man's version of screen mirroring with a firestick over HDMI to RCA converter for $40.

    Replacement Timing Chain/Tensioner Longevity Question

Like @ryanjl said, the tensioners are oil fed. There's definitely a relation between oil changes and tensioner functionality. When I swapped my tensioners out, it did NOT hold any tension nor did the piston compress or extrude any further than where I found it. The guide's button was dented in...

    Thermostat Replacement and then some.

I ALWAYS tell people that once you have a coolant leak, you should replace everything. Most parts are plastic and deteriorate over time and as soon as 1 part goes, the rest will follow suit over the next year or so. Might as well do everything at once and take the worries out of it. Here's what...

    Replacement Timing Chain/Tensioner Longevity Question

Not necessarily. You can also check the timing chain on bank 2 or LH (looking from inside the cab) for tension through the oil cap. Push down and pull up on the chain with something like an o-ring removal tool that has a 90* tip. I would agree with @mm3846 on this. Checking and changing your...

tire pressure monitor system with compomotive wheels on 2013 lr4

Imho, tpms monitoring is useless for those that are weekend wheeling out on the trails. Unlike jeeps and other vehicles that show the actual tire pressures, Land Rover has a set value range that alerts you if the pressure is out of range. On that note, I used my gap iid tool to disable it.

    Replacement Timing Chain/Tensioner Longevity Question

Word on the street is the updated tensioner and guides are still susceptible to failure. '14 and up are starting to notice timing chain issues too. Make sure you frequently check your oil level between oil changes too. My oil change frequency was every 3k and I would always be low on oil in...

    P0087 Fuel Pressure

Stealership trying to markup unnecessary parts and labor to make some money on unsuspecting folks. Sad, but they're a business for profit too. Anyhow, glad you didn't have to do the hpfps. They're easy to diy replace them if you ever have to replace. Use the iid tool to check live values for...

    Eco mode and starters

IMO the eco start/stop is dumber than the bms system. Another reason why I love my v8. Anyhow, yes, I think the eco start/stop will wear down your starter and battery system. If I had one, I'd constantly hit the eco off button and get irritated for remembering/forgetting to hit the button. I...

    Front hitch options?

150A alternator. I seriously hate PWM. I constantly monitor mine. I have 2 cheap usb cig plug-ins with voltage and check my iid tool when I see my starting battery dip. I read live values for battery volts, battery charge percentage, alternator load, and alternator amperage. There's more, but...

    Front hitch options?

I looked into this year's ago. There was a European company that made one specifically for the LR3, before the LR4 came out. Can't seem to remember who made it. There's others that just made their own replacing the front tow hook...
