You have to buy/order from your local dealer or else they get a financial charge. I was informed that local was determined by zip code
I ended up using the home address of my mom in another city to buy from a different dealer. That's an option for you if you have family elsewhere and can use...
Hi Katie, I wouldn't worry about the stop/start. You get used to it pretty quickly and then it's just a part of the car. I personally enjoy the engine turning off at stops as it really doesn't need to be running. Plus the action of stop start is smooth and quiet for me.

Sorry to see you go AxelR. Went to Manhattan and CT recently and saw more LR4s out there than I do in the SF Bay Area. Do you plan to just drive less in NY so you are selling?
I'm generally excited with new LR products coming out. See what's new and the changes they've made. If any of the...
Crazy to think that after something gets repaired if the electrical parts aren't put back exactly as they were you can get some wild symptoms. How frustrating when it's only a connection problem.

Well I'm happy to say that I'm 99.9% confident the problem has been resolved. 40 days later and the noise has yet to repro.
Appears that whatever process was done to take apart and put back together the parking brake corrected the irritating noise. Getting new rear brake pads at 8k didn't...
Ha, that's pretty funny.
On a side note, I've noticed that the Eco start up for me has become smoother than before (and it wasn't rough to begin with). Once I hit ~7k miles the startup sound and movement is more subtle. I keep it engaged almost 100% of the time.
I received the same gift last year a month or so after my '14 purchase. I don't expect to use the lenses, though it was a neat feature.

So after reproducing the problem two more times and verifying that a quick toggle of the parking brake resolved the issue for the time being I booked an appointment with the SJ dealer again (3rd time for this issue). They had the car for 1.5 days and dismantled and put back together the parking...
Neillo Land Rover Rocklin.
I've purchased side rails, trailer hitch, and other goodies from them. Lowest price around I could find.

Sorry, just saw you mentioned aftermarket and not oem.
Definitely sounds like it's coming from the rear end (but is hard to confirm 100% as I'm always driving when it happens). I'll follow up with the dealer - thanks Umberto!
PS
I'm LOVING my V6 rotary shifter LR4. Can't believe all this "gotta get a 2013 or earlier" rabble I keep reading...
They just replaced the pads. The problem happened again at lunch and was persistent throughout stops and starts, but I noticed that toggling the parking brake immediately resolved the squeal. Maybe there is something to there. I'm going to showcase my vehicle ignorance here, but I don't know...
I'm curious what changed from 14 to 15 that could've impacted the ac. Spent a toasty weekend in Palm Springs and the ac performed as expected. Hope they root cause it and fix you up asap!

I also haven't put a front plate on the last 3 cars we've purchased (I live in Bay Area of Cali). I like the look without it better and haven't had the law care (yet). I have a friend in the sjpd who wanred me its ticketable, but I haven't got popped yet so I plan to continue on.
Gratz on the...
Unfortunately the noise happened again a week later. Ugh!
Though it was less pronounced (quieter) and doesn't seem to occur as often. In going to have to talk to the dealer again to see if they did relube all the pads and rotors even though they found the metal piece in the left rear pad. At...
I asked how the metal piece ended up in the pad. The service manager said the space between the pad and the disc was like 1/100 of an inch and he couldn't see how an object got in there. We don't really know. I do wish they would've showed me the pad though for my own curiosity. And yes it was...
All,
I don't think I ever shared this problem, but back in October I noticed my LR4 would make a noise some of the times when driving slowly (8-25 mph) and mostly during or after a left hand turn. The noise was a rotational metal-sounding squeal. This noise would occur after ~20 minutes of...
We only have two kids. Looked at most of the SUVs out there with the exception of the behemoths (tahoes, armadas, etc) and settled in a minivan. For us there is just no equivalent to the practicality and convenience of minivan for little ones. I know my wife would balk at putting multiple...
Looks awesome! I really wanted scotia grey but since there were no 2014 LR4s to look at (let alone test drive!) I ordered mine blind. I couldn't find good pics online to convince me to get the scotia and I picked a color I could find a lot of pics of. Agreed on the power. The 3rd row seat...
Glad to hear TCM75.
6k in and to me the rotary knob is perfectly fine. Don't miss the stick at all. The rotary is cleaner, modern and pretty slick that it raises and lowers as needed. I enjoy having less "clutter" in that area.
Eco start /stop just took getting used to. If frantic stop and...
Ha. I want black lugs but sheesh the OEM set is expensive! I didn't realize folks used an aftermarket brand. Are gorilla nuts ( what a name! ) the go to brand?
I'll also plug the LR040248 from Rocklin. Very solid, small profile, easy install/removal, and lockable. Only have a bike rack at the moment but I plan to get a small trailer some day.
