Subject reads 2014 LR4. There was a thread a while back about someone else having their LR4 (forget the year) turn off while driving - didn't mention transmission shifting to park though. Interesting, awaiting an update from the OP since it LR4 is probably at the dealer by now. -

iPod/iPhone options for 2012 Base?
I bought a dedicated iPod Classic for the car, which has much more storage than an iPod touch or iPhone (and cheaper to buy). That way I keep my entire music collection (~50GB) available in the car via USB at all times and use my iPhone to stream music or podcasts if needed. This setup works... -

Have read on other forums that the factory retools for new MYs from July/August. My order went in end of May scheduled for delivery end of August. It's likely that I'll be getting part of the last batch of MY14s. -

Just heard back: The 2015 model of the LR4 has only been announced in Europe and is not for the U.S. market. 2015 LR4 orders will not be available in the US until the end of the year at the earliest. -

Personally not too interested in the MY15 apps, at least I wouldn't miss them in my 2014. CarPlay would be very important to me, once that's released hopefully there will be a way to integrate it into older infotainment systems (but i doubt it). Just emailed my dealer. My MY14 is on order... -

I was really impressed at how the LR4 raced up that gravel hill easily beating the others. Curious how the '14 LR4 would compare against this V8 LR4 in the same situation as I don't know if this had to do with pure strength vs traction control. -

Looking black OEM cross bar for '14 LR4
Man I really butchered this title :-D The Thules cross bars are a nice fit but wow they're the same price as the Thule Alpine cargo box I have 0_0. Someday I may end up getting something like a baja rack and I wonder if a 3rd party cross bar (like Thule) would fit those better than OEM cross bars. -

Appreciate the help Dubroz. After more searching I've found other threads that also mention that LR4/LR3 cross bars are interchangeable. Some parts stores still have the LR3 set new (if their inventory is accurate) at $316 while new on clearance LR4 set is $309. eBay has a pretty used pair... -

Do the Yakima cross bars extend beyond roof rails? I prefer the clean look where the cross bar isn't protruding past the roof rails and have usually had to go OEM to get that. -

Ugh. The only upgrade I have planned now for my LR4 is to install an aftermarket amp/subwoofer. Appears this problem may persist after the install.
