I know lucky8 is currently designing an air to coil conversion kit and it should be more geared to the lifted offroad crowd versus the AB kit....like anything aftermarket there are tradeoffs though...peace of mind for the mechanical change but loss of some functionality over the air system.
yup those pics pretty much sum it up...wish I would have had a guide like that for reference when I did it but that'll get you mostly there. good luck, not terribly difficult but it does take a bit of time at least the first time through...one thing that wasn't noted though - if your center hub...
Yes I've replaced both of my front half-shafts...once you get access then you can pull the shaft out - note don't pull the shaft at any point after the CV or you'll pull the CV out of socket and it'll be too long to actually get out without removing the entire hub....pull from the shaft as close...
I second the solid rotor - unless you're at the track and have a need to cool these rotors very quickly then stick to solid rotors as it's highly likely that you'll warp or even crack the drilled ones, plus you'll have added surface area and a LOT less noise. For the LR3 I've really loved the...
I've been sporting some 32's for the last year or so and lately (after our last few outings) I've noticed that at full stuff I do get rubbing in the rear passenger side...looks like there are some lines under the inner fender back there (maybe coolant lines?) - has anyone re-located these and if...
Sweet...Just sourced some 18" stock wheels...painted them up and slapped on some 275/65/18 TerraGrappler G2s with some 2.5" Rhino Rods - great mix of offroad clearance without really any major loss in towing capacity. Here's some of the only pics I had on the work machine...
Sorry I didn't respond quicker...I just saw this reply...to answer your question - I have not purchased these tires yet but I know that my '06 doesn't have the 2" knob that the later models '08 and above do and I was planning on running 2.5" rhino rods full-time so just the normal rubbing in...
Wow...thanks Umberto - I too live in socal so that was definately my concern as well - that and i'll probably end up pretty well loaded down with camp stuff and 3 kids in the back so figured the LT/E version was the way to go...love that you're hard on the tires and your still project to get 50K...
OK I tried slogging through this entire thread and made it through roughly 90% of it...I know I read this somewhere but for our LR3's I finally decided to run a 275/65/18 Nitto Terra G2s but they come in both E load rating and XL load rating...I'm assuming the E load rating is a better choice...
