I ran a basic test; you can only access S1 and S2 whether you're in regular terrain mode or the snow and gravel mode. That basically confirms that if you want to follow the ZF procedure (50145 EN) then the wheels need to come off the ground for gear selection. Points to itsaguything :cool... -

Thank you. Think I'm going with the stands but your answer does seem to confirm it runs with a smaller amount of fluid! I may do the initial work in extended mode and then go to stands. Temperature for the fluid is 40C if I recall? -

Thanks. Just ordered another set of stands! Not sure I like the idea of the vehicle on 4 stands but I'll keep jack under there as well. This to me implies wheels turning freely while it's on the stands as I move through the gears, thinking perhaps to take the wheels off to lower the inertia... -

So, now a question... Part of the fluid replacement procedure involves warming up the transmission fluid so that the correct amount of fluid can be added while the transmission is hot. The procedure talks about running the transmission in different gears to help heat up the transmission fluid... -

I was looking at the British Atlantic site the other day at the cooling pipe kits; they were circa $700, I'm guessing but probably add another $250 for the front and rear crossovers and you have $950 in parts, $3K in labor, at say $200/hour gives 15hours... I have no idea, just want to hang...
