MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

As always, thank you for the comparative analysis! Unless the GAP selections are labeled differently, I think sensor 2 is the pre cat sensor. The lamda sensor is on the exhaust manifold (what I call sensor 1). As I keep playing with the truck, I change my mind on what things mean. Technically...

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

Reached my max photos above... Finally, and I am not sure what it means, the throttle position sensors (I guess we have two?) Are showing two, different voltages. I'm guessing this may cause conflicting information to the ECM:

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

The mystery deepens. I had a little time this morning waiting on someone and went down the entire list of live value options that I thought would apply to my situation. All of these values are at idle. While none of the individual cylinders show misfires, the combined values show this: And...

    Lessons Learned Rebuilding 5.0 V8 2012 LR4 Engine

You can remove the heads with the engine still in the truck. However, given all of the potential work, I would just pull the whole thing and put it on an engine stand. That way, if there is an issue with the short block or rotating assembly, it will be easier to work on.

    Front Wheel Bearings - Question

Normally the castle nut would use a cotter pin to prevent loosening of the axle nut. Hence, no staking required. But, I don't remember our axles having a hole to insert a cotter pin into. I'm sure it's fine. Someone much smarter than me designed it

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

I really appreciate you helping me go back and forth on this thing. Yes, both MAF sensors replaced and still no codes. I will check the fuel trims again today as well. I may just have to bite the bullet and install these damn exhaust manifold gaskets. We talked about it before, but I bet the...

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

Ordered a new vacuum line and air sensor. When cleaned with MAF cleaner, dirty liquid poured out (probably oil or the CRC cleaner. I'm also eying the temp sensor on the front of the intake. I did not pull it, but will this weekend to assess. As far as fuel demanded vs actual: Idle: Light...

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

I believe that it is still low, but I did not take a screen shot when I measured it... It's a great point though and I will grab some data tomorrow. I do have another theory. The air intake sensor is on the back of the intake manifold, right next to the vacuum line that I just removed. I am not...

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

Thank you for the sanity check! The only other weird thing I saw today was the passenger side MAF connector. It doesn't look corroded, but definitely like it could use a cleaning. I couldn't figure out how to release the terminals though. More fun for me tomorrow I guess lol

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

Still experiencing some bogging at idle, and some vibration at part throttle. So, I decided to pull the spark plugs; verify their condition, gap, and install torque; and check for vacuum leaks again. Spark plugs looked good, but the gap was a little too close. I adjusted and torqued them to...

Is this leak coolant or transmission fluid?

    +1 rear crossover most likely

Thank you for this. I've been looking for a solution like this for awhile.

    Front Wheel Bearings - Question

Unfortunately, it does sound like they are damaged. As the wheel bearing is held in by the 4 bolts; and the wheel is connected to the bearing by the lug nuts; I never understood how marginally under torquing the axle nut could cause play. When you tightened the axle nut, did it reduce the play...

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

Quick update. In tank fuel pump and filter install went well and may have solved the problem (knock on wood). I finished the work on Saturday and did a short drive to the gas station on Sunday. LTFTs were high (~10%), but STFTs we low (~ -4.5%). O2 sensors read well. However, coolant temp sensor...

What did you do with your Lr4 Today?

Lots of fun today. Fuel filter and in tank fuel pump replaced. It's all back together, but ran out of time to prime fuel pump and test drive it.

Replaced rear diff pinion seal, drive shaft and breather

I use a white zip tie to check diff oil levels and condition. You don't want paper or wood pieces getting in there.

Battery Management System & power discharge leak

The BMS would set a code and alert you on the driver display as a "charging system fault". It sounds like a parasitic drain somewhere. Likewise, I've read that leaving the key close to the vehicle may prevent complete shutdown of systems. If you are not locking and moving the key a given...

    Steering shaft replacement

Ha! I actually got them from LR tampa as well. They had the best price on them. That is a weird policy. You would think that they would welcome the local sale so they didn't have to bother with the nationwide shipping nightmare. Of course, they would then miss out on whatever shipping mark up...

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

To be honest, I replaced the fuel purge valve in one of our LR4s, but I do not remember which one... It will throw a code if faulty though. I may remove it and push smoke back through the fuel purge valve line; just to see what happens

    Steering shaft replacement

Forgot to mention that you should replace the upper and lower bolts. I have the part numbers somewhere.

    Doesn't seem too bad.

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

Good suggestion. I have a smoke tester. But, it showed no leak the last time I tested the intake and vacuum system. Granted, I tested on a cold engine. I may try again on a warm engine to see if expansion is creaking a leak.

MAF sensor and O2 sensor bad?

Coincidentally, i have been watching that thread lol. It's a weird frustrating issue. I thought I could correlate it to the rear a.c., but that was a fluke. I'll drop a note to him in the gas tank parts improves the condition. I will also look at the coolant temp sensor. Even if just checking...
