    Fault Code for luggage antenna.

I'm going back a lot of years here, but IIRC, you must leave the parking sensors connected for things to function normally. Deactivate them with the IID tool, but then zip tie them up out of the way.

    Aluminum crossovers exist now! (maybe)

I think they are mislabeled, at least for USA use. I believe that is the version that will work for the supercharged version only, so I think it should say 2014 and up. I could be wrong, though.

    SCV6 overheated and then catastrophe

Just a quick blurb. Anytime you experience what looks like a "massive coolant leak" where everything is coated under the hood, take a quick look at the o-ring on the plastic bleed screw back near the fuse panel on a left hand drive vehicle. It is a simple fix, but when that thing goes, it...

    Lessons Learned Rebuilding 5.0 V8 2012 LR4 Engine

I wish. I'm not sure if the numbers of these trucks support the economics of development, but the ultimate saviour of the LR4 would be the development of an engine swap that both integrates with the electronics as needed and uses a much simpler and easier to service mill.

    Lower control arm replacements

Interesting to hear the comments on poly. I went all poly, with the exception of the rear carriers (which I couldn't find a poly replacement for) about 2 years ago, and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them. No noise, and maybe I have an iron ****, but I don't discern any...

For those who have other things to worry about other than crossover pipe failure/catastrophic overheating

The mythical AL crossover pipe has been discussed here for years. I have yet to ever see an actual example.

    Water pump nipple

Thanks. Just ordered on to add at some point. Make sure you get a brass bleeder screw to replace the plastic POS while you are at it.

    OVERHEATING

How many miles? Cooling issues tend to boil down (pun intended) to water pump, T-state, front crossover, heater manifold (rear crossover) or bleeding. These trucks can be a brute to get a good a good bleed if they have rear hvac. Their is a specified procedure in the manual that involves time...

Best way to attach winch to stock battery?

@drivesafe Got a pre-cut plate I could buy off of you? I like that setup.

So You Want an Auxiliary Fuel Tank for Your LR4...

Bumbera's in Sealy, TX. https://www.bumberas.com/ Don't have any diagrams, unfortunately, but you can probably divine it out by looking at the first picture on page 1. Is your CEL staying on constantly?

IID Tool and control module firmware updates

It probably just reset the override when you did the update. Get in the vehicle. Press start button without foot on brake to turn the car on. Buckle and unbuckle the driver's seatbelt 10 times in quick succession. I bet that solves the chiming.

5.0 V8 Fueling and Efficiency Questions

I generally run premium but recently did a couple tanks of regular. Correct me if I am wrong, but the benefit of a higher octane rating is increased resistance to pre-ignition or detonation. Since our engine management systems include a knock (detonation) sensor (LR008877), I would expect the...

Ugh. Check engine light. Little help with the codes please

Skilled trade rates are skyrocketing because the cost of the materials used by the trades have doubled, or even tripled in many cases over the past 1.5 years. Oh, and all those guys that work for the skilled tradesman still want to be able to afford a loaf of bread and gallon of milk, so you...

    Quick Compressor Replacement Question

I think what I was referring to is item 4 in the diagram. I knew the inlet filter was up there, but did not realize there was a silencer in the system. Thanks.

    Quick Compressor Replacement Question

I have a random question after replacing my compressor. There are three ports on the compressor. The inlet port which runs up behind the drive's tail light. The outlet port, which runs to the center valve block. And lastly, the third port which comes off of what I presume to be the drier on...

Options for adding a front Diff Lock on LR4?

I don't know if they still make it, but my 2012 has an ARB front locker. Paid about $600ish for the locker and about $1100ish for the install. Works great. Just need the HD half-shafts to go with it, but have trouble stomaching $4K for those.

Where to tap coolant for a shower heat exchanger?

Not to hijack your interesting thread, but what tank and skid plate do you have? I have an LRA tank and have had getting a skid plate fabbed up for it on my list but haven't accomplished it yet. Curious if you had something custom fabbed or found an off the shelf solution. Feel free to PM me...

    Keyless Entry Antenna Location

The service manual specifically states "Center Console Antenna" for that fault code. There are several scattered around, with the one you reference probably being the easiest to locate. Thanks.

    Keyless Entry Antenna Location

My truck is throwing a consistent B1335-00(68) fault, which is "Front triangulation/loadspace anenna". Service manual instructs you to check wiring to and replace if necessary the "Center Console Load-Space Antenna". However, it provides no guidance on where that antenna module is actually...

Where to tap coolant for a shower heat exchanger?

HaHa. I thought of that when going to sleep last night. You could probably easily end up with 200 degree shower water, which would probably make for a short shower.

Where to tap coolant for a shower heat exchanger?

I have a TR front bumper. If you don't use their relocated washer fluid tank, their might be room on the driver's side. Passenger side has bracket for the front air block that would probably be in the way, but maybe enough room to wedge it in their. That would make it easy to cut a couple...

Where to tap coolant for a shower heat exchanger?

Thats why I was thinking rear wheel well heater hoses. You could cut the existing supply line, and plumb your exchanger inline on a less critical coolant path. Can you post a picture of the exchanger with something for scale? I'm wondering how large of a unit we are talking about.

Where to tap coolant for a shower heat exchanger?

Passenger side rear wheel well there are coolant pipes for the rear hvac. I believe they are 3/8, so probably more flow available than the crossover ******. There is also some room behind the passenger side cargo area trim that might make for a suitable location for the exchanger. Any leakage...
