Gas smell after driving. No error codes. No visible leaks.

Couldn't agree more. Particularly since you were 'fixing' a potentially deadly defect. You should push for reimbursement even if they say they have to do it again with a different (updated) part. They may have already fixed that flange before your repair was done, since they have known of this...

Gas smell after driving. No error codes. No visible leaks.

Not likely. Here is JLR's notice to the dealers: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2021/RCMN-21V635-0337.pdf In part it says: "Currently no parts are available to repair these vehicles. A Technical Bulletin will be published once repair instructions are finalized and any required parts have been...

    Black OEM Wheel Finishing

I believe they are painted, including a clear finish coat.

Gas smell after driving. No error codes. No visible leaks.

The short answer now is yes, they will/should reimburse. See my earlier post below with the NHTSA attachment explaining the recall. If you've already been notified then you should be able to submit for reimbursement. "No" in my below answer was only in regard to timing. You might want to check...

    Should I?

Since it's from a LR dealer, is it 'Certified'? (LR extended warranty). Or will they 'Certify' it?...if not, why not? Of course there are usually $'s attached to that, but it's a good extended warranty and the price may be negotiable.

    2015 LR4 Lux w HD - 91k Mile Gut Check - Keep or Sell?

Given your tolerance, resources and apparent commitment, I'd say keep it...particularly if your daily use doesn't involve a ton of miles. The combo of utility, comfort and capability (LUX w HD) is hard to duplicate even for big bucks...but you know that. Seems like a fairly complete list of...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

I think the answer is no. Read this NHTSA doc from my earlier post, It outlines what's happening and when: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2021/RCLRPT-21V635-1019.PDF. Reimbursement is mentioned on page 3 as well as the Recall Schedule. Dealers are to be notified tomorrow Aug 26, and Owners 'on...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Same here, but I don't want to pay LR 'retail $'s for it. I'm due for an oil change, so I'm thinking I will have my indy shop do it this time and ask him to also check the LP fuel pump pressure, if there's an easy way. I've seen some vids indicating that there is a Schrader valve on the fuel...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

@jlglr4 - Yes! The CA emissions warranty was going to be my approach to taking care of the problem until this recall (thankfully) surfaced. Mine has 15k miles, but the basic warranty has obviously timed-out. Haven't smelled gas lately, but have only been driving it around town. The times that I...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Here is the NHTSA summary of the required 573 Safety Recall Report as submitted by JLR. It sheds a little more light on things. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2021/RCLRPT-21V635-1019.PDF There's also a NHTSA acknowledgment letter to JLR posted on the site. In sum: Vehicles built at Solihull...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Update: This from a 8/19 Consumer Reports article posted on here by @Michael Conley : "Land Rover says that owners who have already paid to have this defect repaired will be covered by the Land Rover reimbursement plan." So there's hope!

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Unfortunately, I'm guessing the chances of that are probably somewhere between slim and none. Apparently 'repaired' before the recall as it just happened/happening (may not be official yet until notices go out from JLR?), and if "you" means DIY, then maybe for the cost of the part or what they...

2015 LR4 HSE Key FOB dilemma

OP- Welcome! Here is my post to an earlier thread that is on topic with your question, and that you might find helpful. If you have any interest in owning a GAP Diagnostic Tool (highly recommend) you can purchase the tool and a key FOB, then use the IID tool to program the FOB yourself for about...

    Cant track down Lug/wheel studs

This is good info to have (at that price) and it appears Lucky8's source is 'All Makes 4x4', so I checked that site. It's the same part no./stock no., and a lot more info. It's a fit- D4 10'-16'. https://allmakes4x4.com/hub-assembly-rear-drive-shaft-d3-d4-rs1-rs2-ruc500120.html

    Pre-purchase question

It does seem odd given the mileage. I doubt that it's on any service 'checklist' at that point. It was "recent" and now the truck is for sale? I would investigate further..the why and the results.

    Cant track down Lug/wheel studs

I might be over-thinking this, or perhaps it's just an oversight, or maybe it is the same part, but your truck (15' or 16' SCV6 ?) isn't listed in the fit spec ? Great pic again btw.

    Beware: OEM vs Garbage

Yeah, 'OEM' is a figure of speech maybe used too broadly and loosely these days...sometimes by 'crooks' (MHO) selling knock-offs and calling it that because they maintain it meets spec. So yes 'OE-Land Rover' or 'Genuine Land Rover', as they say, works...even though, as we all know, LR's are...

    Beware: OEM vs Garbage

Philmont ? Yes, OEM all the way on the cooling system.

Sierra Nevada Overland + Broken Lug Studs

And "no spacers"...that would've been one guess. Or..simply a problem with the initial install?..over-tightened? That's it for 'wisdom'. Great pic's!

New 2012 LR4 owner with a few questions

A couple of comments- While not impossible, it seems a bit unlikely that both struts would go bad in the same way at the same time. I had the exact same thing occurring in my LR3 about at the end of it's time with me (front end sagging over-night). Took it in to my indy mech and it was not...

    Coolant Leak, not holding vacuum

Check this post. Member sold his truck and has a bunch of parts he's unloading: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/leftover-2015-lr4-parts.42929/page-3#post-229388 Says he has this: NEW OEM front crossover pipe kit (Brand New): LR090630, LR092992, LR011038 ($90 shipped) It was for a '15...

    Coolant Leak, not holding vacuum

Not an expert..not even close, but given what you've been through so far, and where you are headed, I vote for OEM on this part. This topic keeps me up at night and mine only has 15K.

    High-Pitched Buzzing Sound SCV6

EAS/compressor? Do you lower it to pull into the garage? I have to, and the system 'buzzes' for a bit while it cycles...sometimes continuing until I turn it off. It doesn't seem that high-pitched though. (the rest of the 'noise' seems normal lol).

    Intro: Causeway Grey 2014 LR4

Nice find with HD pack (+ on the rare color)..congrats! You've been very busy ($$$) and it looks great. Given what you've done so far, and where you seem to be headed, I tend to agree with adding a spare tire rack. You might want to check out the Terrafirma rack. A few members have them and have...
