So weird costco gas is pretty good. The four faults are all related so it’s not like its different codes. It’s all caused by one issue. If it doesn’t come back then i’d blame it on the gas.
i got these misfire codes when driving from NYC to Tampa Florida. I stopped out at a shady gas station somewhere in Georgia off the highway and they only had one grade of gasoline. I was desperate as i only had 8 miles left and had the entire truck filled with luggage and family. I was not going...
Hey all, anyone have any idea what these codes are in regard to? i tried clearing them with my RSW tool but they won't clear. I disconnected the battery instead and they're gone for now. Ill drive it around tomorrow and report back. Do you guys think it has to do with the recent alternator swap...
Hey thanks for the reply and insight. What alternator did you go with? Oem new or reman? Also what brand if not oem. I’m thinking about going with a new Denso unit.
So i did have an oil leak and oil did get onto everything below the oil filter housing which included the alternator. My brother had one too many beers and cross threaded the oil filter cap and it was spewing some oil for a few hundred miles before i realized. However that was roughly 10k miles...
Hey i’m just digging up an old thread here!! So i have the same exact issue with my truck..what happened in your situation? Did the charging profile ever normalize or did you need a new alternator? My battery died and i installed a new one. Upon firing up the motor i get 14.7ish volts. Shortly...
I had my rims powder coated about 3 years ago. I usually clean my rims roughly every 2-3 weeks. However, i got a bit lazy and didn’t tackle them in about 2 months or roughly 3k miles. Now upon cleaning, the corners/creases on the rims have caked on brake dust. Only 85% of the brake dust came off...
If you saw the strobing happen in a video then that’s the explanation right there. I’m not too sure in regards to explaining what happens, but i believe that the reasoning is that headlights don’t give off a continuous beam of light. It’s a continuous “pulse” of lights that cameras pick up...
Thanks for the input everyone. Quarantine has my ass bored LOL i needed some excitement in my life. I’m in Queens NY....we’re not opening up probably until July smh.
So what you guys are saying is that the starter is most likely bad and the flywheel is still “okay”? I figured once i start hearing the grinding noise, the flywheel is damaged already. I’ve been hearing this sound for the past 3 months or so....
Anyone ever have any issues with their starters or flywheel? I have a horrible grinding sound every 5-10 startups. I figure its some chipped/worn teeth on the flywheel. I’m not sure if the starter is maybe loose or if its the actual flywheel. Anyone have any experience with this? I did some...
What do you guys think? Resonators/center muffler delete with the addition of two magnapacks from magnaflow with straight pipes added to connect back to the rest of the stock exhaust? What do you guys think in terms of sound and engine performance changes if any....
2011 with 88k miles. I just changed my xenons out since they’ve never been changed and it seemed dim. Anyways upon firing them up i noticed that the projector lens is pretty foggy. It seems theres a film over it. Has anyone noticed/attempted to remedy this? If you look at the pics you could see...
No idea....but i baby my truck. Always let it idle down itself after starting, no jack rabbit starts and putting on the handbrake and letting it roll in neutral before shifting it into park. However sometimes i do floor the shit out it on the weekends on a hot engine....
It’s a normal brake job and not any different than a Toyota Prius. The parts however could be expensive...i used the same kit from lucky8 above posted by Michael. Also those sensors are a pain in the ass to change so i just cut them and joined the wires together and taped them off...not like...
Hey everyone, i was chatting with a rover specialist out in Long Island, New York and he explained that oil change intervals should be every 3k miles or three months on our LR4's. He said that even 5k/6 months intervals were too long for this vehicle. Apparently our engines are very prone to...
